where is everyone mounting there x-overs for front component speakers? i'm having a little bit of a problem finding enough space for 2 x-overs in each door. the components have a set of x-overs, and so do the upstage tweeters that i bought. the one location that i'm using so far is in the groove right underneath the window controls. other than that, i'm not sure where to mount the second x-over. i'm trying to avoid having to mount it in the trunk somewhere and run the extra wire, but i guess if i have to, i will. any input would be great. thanx

should i be mounting the x-overs in the doors? i've been told that it's better to have them as close to the amps as possible. i never did that before, but i'm wondering if that'll really make any type of noticeable difference. obviously, the wires are shorter going to the x-over, so that's better, but, just how much better though?
i didnt use my xovers and just unplugged my stock tweeter and mid .....but if you are running an amp and need all new wires I would deff use better ones. Also - you can mount them inside the car if you want - they dont have to be in the doors. Its up to you - i dont have much of an input on the subject because I also dont know what i would do if put in the same situation.

it's annoying-i'm doing front and rear components, and also a set of the cdt upstage tweets, which also has a huge x-over. i'm trying to find the best places to mount all the x-overs. i'm using the regular stock mounting positions and also the a-pillare has the upstage tweet mounted into it. what's really good about the cdt upstage kit is that the tweets aren't highs-they're mids. it's supposed to bring the soundstage up to ear level and all that good stuff. i'm doing a carpeted amp board in the trunk with my amps mounted to it, and i went with the quarterwave enclosure that's been modified to fit the specs of my sub. my sub's a little deeper than what they had intended, so i had to get them to make the enclosure a little bigger. once all the stuff's set up properly, i'll post up pics of everything.
sounds great - i would like to see that when you finish. I just spent the last 6 days working on my car. Im done for a little while.
i replaced all my speakers while matting the whole car plus installing my grille.
here is how i mounted my front speakers:
