$100 for induction service? Worth it?
So the dealer wanted to charge $100 for an induction service.. is that worth it, or should I just pour the can of whatever they use in there myself? There are no emissions laws in Hall County, no one will care if there's a big black cloud billowing out behind me... :D Anyone else get this, think it's a good deal or a rip off? Car's at 46K hard driven miles, btw.
is it like an injector cleaning?
If so just go buy some seafoam and pour it in the gas tank.
That or put like 2 table spoons thourgh the PVC valve after it has been driven awhile. Pour 2 tbl spoons in at around 2k rpm. You will get heavy smoke out of the exhaust so be sure your in an open area

mm i love seafoam. i dump a can in the gas tank every once in a while but after your car gets a few miles on it just run a third of the can thru the pcv valve and put a third of it in your oil and the rest in your gas. it works real good. it is only about 6-7 dollars a can and if your place is charging your 100 bucks for something like that they must be smoking more crack than whitney houston.
Most dealers charge that amount. The dealer where I work at charges $129 for the service. It includes a can of throttle-body cleaner(sprayed on TB plate),a bottle of fuel injecteor cleaner(poured into tank), and a bottle of vaccu flush (poured through a vacuum hose). All can be purchased at your local auto parts. After all, you are paying for the product and the service.
