$140,000 tc show car question
$25k.
The price is what you value the work at. I'm not a fan of the airbrushed design and would have it all repainted, interior and exterior, so it's an expense, not an asset. Widebody, A/V, lighting and install work all have value, so it would be fair to add that in to the price. Rims would need to go.
I do my own paint, bodywork and interior fabrication, so what I'd be paying for is convenience of already having this stuff done. Would probably be able to grab a used, high mileage tC to do the same thing cheaper, but wouldn't have the hours available needed to finish it up.

Well that looks like some darn good work as well as alot of man hours but honestly i think its ugly. Sorry. Your definetly gonna have to wait for the diamond in the rough to buy that thing.
that is one ugly paint scheme. a new paint job would get that thing sold a lot quicker.
and one of two things will happen
some fool will spend that much money on that car and then ruin the car by wrecking it
or
that the car will not sale for anything they are asking for

On the tC, the base car will depreciate in value every year and unless someone wants that EXACT paint scheme, it's going to cost the new owner to repaint it regardless of how much the airbrushing cost or the quality of the detail work. This follows the general trend of customization depreciating the value of the vehicle, not enhancing it. As another person said, unless it can pass inspection with the digital display as well the buyer market will be further limited to trailer only.
I'm thinking the guy's next step is going to be a part-out. The custom dash and sub / amp racks should go for a good amount and can easily be repainted to match another color scheme.
I will personally slap anyone here who buys the diamond plate floor mats.
I think people realize that for a modern customized car $$ in \= $$ out. Anything after 1979 isn't really an investment the way restoring a classic or muscle car would be, where you can actually turn a profit for restoration.

i would imagine if he wants to get any money out of this. he sould try to part out the crazy mods( interior, wheels) , take most of it back to stock (interior), repaint and maybe sell the car for a couple G's more than blue book
I was out and about today and I thought about this car in this ebay add, I just still can't believe he did that to that tC. I think if he really wants to sell it for 35k he'd have to take the Scion badges off it and replace them with Honda badges, and maybe put a big "Vtakkkk" Viynl on the car.
