i recently ordered a tc from a dealership and i asked them about the security system for the car. they offered the security system with autostart for 600. is it worth it? or should i wait and get alarm with gps?

how much are those alarms with the little pager anyway? expensive?

 

600 is wayyyy to much

 

way too much. you can get an alarm with all functions that has an auto start in it for like 290. Very big reputable company. try clifford, or viper or something.

 

scion security system has auto start? since when.

You guys dealers sell lots more than factory. I sell over ten alarms, 6 sunroofs, 100s of rims bla bla bla.

 

my dealer even offer leather heated seats and nav sys. they also tryin to get me to get lojack for almost 800 i think, since i live in boston and all.

 

if you are getting the alarm and stuff, get it aftermarket online and than go have a reputable dealer install like. If you don't know anyone, take it to some big big company who you can hold liable for the work done on your car.

 

for $600 you can hire an alien to live in a garbage can in your front yard for a year and start the car up in the morning......heck for that much money they'll mow your lawn too!

 

If he has a 5-speed then yes $600 isn't all that much, I paid $500 to get a Clifford with the pager and remote start installed on my previous car.

 

For those with respiratory problems or other illnesses or handicaps, $600 could be a bargain! It does, however, limit you to the automatic in most cases.

 

my gf and I got the HARD sell for an autostart... after 15min of us telling the dip____ "no", he suddenly realized that we had a 5sp and it would've been illegal for him to put it on.

I PAID $275 FOR MINE. THAT WAS PARTS AND LABOR. I HAVE THE CLIFFORD MATRIX ALARM WITH REMOTE START. I BELIEVE THE MODEL NUMBER IS RS2.0.

 

Hey we both know why it's nto fixed!! toyota wont fix it LOL!

 

I guess depends on what you need, if you want to warm up the car before you get in and that few minutes of warm up time worth $600 bucks, go for it.

IMHO, $600 toward the sound system maybe a wiser choice. Just get a basic alarm and you will be fine. For the GPS alarm, that's way overkill, save/invest your money instead

 

Or, get a girlfriend...have her do it

i heard it costs a lot just to have autostart install, but i guess tat was bak then. every single d@mn dealerships offered it here cuz its massachusetts. if yall lived in cold or snowing states, i guess autostart would be useful.
