Default **YOKOHAMA NEEDS TEST TIRES!!!**

Yokohama Tire Corporation is looking for a set of USED tires from a 2006-2008 Scion tC. Here are the details and further criteria which you must meet in order to qualify:

- Tires must be OE size (215/45ZR17)
- Tires must be Yokohama S32A model
- Tires must be about 50% worn out (tread depth should have about 5/32" or 4mm remaining)
- You must live in Southern Cali and be willing to drive to Fullerton for evaluation (only one time)

If you think you qualify or have any questions, please email me at: nathan.ortega@yokohamatire.com

If your tires are chosen as the tires we would like to use for R&D, we will provide you with brand new replacement set of tires at no charge (including mounting and balancing) and your old tires will become the property of Yokohama Tire Corporation.

Thank you for your interest!

my stock Potenza rock, up till the day i replaced them. 45,000 because i wanted upgrade on the rims , i did slip a few times in the rain on the last 5,000 miles. Yokohama did the same but they would kick up water into the car while i drove around parking lots.

so what type of tire would be good for the tc? i got the yoko s32a or whatever and they slip when goin into a ditch or pothole or anything similar. gonna get the 225/45zr17 size if possible otherwise 215/4zr17. are pirelli's or falkens a better tire or is there something else that you guys would recommend. i ask this only because i am about to get tires withing the next couple of weeks at the latest. any info or input is gonna be helpful, also please consider quality vs. cost. anything around the $500 to $1000 range is good for me though. thanks guys.

The Potenza's are crap too... Yokohama and Bridgestone can make good tires, but these particular ones are horrible...

But you can't pass up free tires... heck, you could just turn around and sell them...

Hello all- thank you for your interest and your replies.

First off, the tires that replace the S32A tires that we need for testing do not necessarily need to be another set of S32A tires. You get to choose!!

We're sorry to hear that you have had a less than satisfactory experience with your tires, but there are many factors that you must understand about OEM tires:

- OE tires are usually manufactured SPECIFICALLY for the vehicle they are equipped on. This means, that no other car comes with Yokohama S32A tires originally (from the factory). The dealer may change the tires, but the S32A tires have been engineered specifically for the Scion tC.

- The S32A tires that came with many of your tC's are good all-season tires. Performance is so very subjective. While many of the car enthusiasts on this site may feel like the tires perform poorly, you must also consider how they are driving.

- If you are looking for more performance, consider the UTQG rating of each tire. Additionally, look to see if the tire is High Performance, Ultra High Performance, All-Season, etc...

::Bottom Line:: Yokohama has recently released the S.drive tire which is an excellent value. (Sorry to those living in snowy areas-= this is a wet/dry tire ONLY). But this tire is amazing in both wet and dry conditions, especially for the money.

When you make your next tire purchase, just remember: Great tires aren't cheap and cheap tires aren't great.

I just found out my neighbor's girlfriend's OEM Yokos are in his backyard.

If you guys can't come up with anything. I bet his girlfriend will be willing to give them to you guys. Hell, I work for shipping supplies company and could get shipping box for each tire. Ship them out to you guys. Or I can ask my boss and see if we can throw them on skid...ship them with one of our California orders to our California branch. You guys can pick them up there.

Reason why I willing to do this. Being from Wisconsin, I had ALOT of scary events in winter that happen to me with my old Yoko set. In fact my most dangerous event happened within two months of me buying my brand new tC.
