Sometime in the next 6-8 months I plan on purchasing a tC. Unfortunately, with college and all that fun stuff I don't think I'm going to be able to an '07 (or an 200. The question is, is there any real reason I should get an '06 over an '05? I don't know alot about the tC's yet, so I'm wondering if there were any big changes in '06, or anything else I should know? Anyways, I think you guys understand what I'm trying to find out... thanks in advance.

 

nothing different besides CD player (i think?) and steering wheel controls that i remember? I would get the newest year possible if it was me. Within the 6-8 months save anything you can for the tC. Maybe you'll have a good downpayment or something? Or play some lottery and you could get lucky

 

get whichever you can get a good deal on, the only difference i know of between an 06 and 05 is the steering wheel controls, and personally i think it looks better without the controls, but they are useful.

 

yeah, there is no major changes other than a different cd player and steering wheel audio controls are on the 06.

i really wish i had a rotary **** on my cd player, but on the plus side, when i put in a new audio system, i won't have useless audio buttons left on the steering wheel that will no longer serve a purpose.

also, there are a few colors that were only made in 05 which are silver streak mica which changed to classic silver metallic in 06, and indigo ink pearl in 05 became nautical blue in 06. then there is also the coveted rs1 in absolutely red that would be great to have.

also, i like to speculate that since the 05's were the first year for the tc, they will appreciate in value sooner because of it.

No major changes... that's good to hear. I was looking at an RS1 and for some reason I just didn't like that red... I plan on finishing the process of replacing the factory speakers in my Camry and then after that I'm gonna let it be, and start saving up funds for the tC.
