Default 05 tC owners check in

I thought it would be nice to hear how everyone still feels about there tC.

26,700 miles, few paint chips, but nothing more then normal. Still rides like new, Plenty of power for pulling out on interstate and just having fun. The more I wash and wax the better it looks. Big plus on the all glass roof, still get comments on how nice a car it is. Overall I think Scion has done a great job on this car and will serve me well for years to come.

52000 miles on mine since March 2005. A few rock chips on the front bumper cover, paint is flawless everywhere else and holding up well. Car still looks and drives like new. Amazingly, my stock Potenzas are still going strong with plenty of tread left! Rattles have all seemed to take care of themselves, and there have been absolutely no problems with the car except for exploding sunroof.

Still get lots of people (mostly older) coming up to me and asking me about the car. Some dude recently came up to me in the parking lot, said he liked my car and asked me if it was a Volvo. WTF?

well, the front end of the tc's do look alot like volvos. i should know, i deliver catering to a volvo dealership every so often, the tc blends right in front wise.

i have 42xxx since november 04. holding up great, just your standard wear and tear from me ragging on it.

that is because epa estimates are a total joke. they are determined after running the car on a treadmill. no wind resistence, no inclines, no actual weight in the car either. also ambient air temperatures and other environmental factors that affect mpg.

i only get bad mileage because well i can't help but make the rpm needle go all the way around the dial.

I got my tC back in July of 2004 and put 25xxx miles on it.
Got it turboed in 2006.
She's still running stong.
One problem I'm having is my water pump is leaking. But it will be replaced soon since it's still covered under warranty.
Second problem I'm having would be my front bumper.
It has spider cracks from the grille to the headlights (from me taking the front bumper off too many times). I fear the paint is going to chip away soon. =(
Other than that my tC is holding up pretty well.
Hooray. :3

Got mine in January 05
29,400 miles on it

Front bumper is filled with rock chips, but having my bumper repainted in 2 weeks.

No other complaints.

EPA estimates are nearly dead on for the tC. I get almost exactly what they state. About 22 in town and 30 on the highway. I average about 24-25 mpg overall.

Bought mine in Oct 04 and it now has about 39000 miles on it. Still love it. My hood and bumper have a good number of tiny chips, but it took a good number of road trips (most through iowa and KS) for the first year, so that is where I got most of those besides the tons of road construction near my place over the last two years.

Started autoxing it this year, and while the tC is not the car to have on the track, it does pretty well and is a lot of fun.

The dealer replaced my hatch struts and a hood seal (it was whistling) under warranty at 35,xxx miles. The sunroof started creaking a bit and triggered the jam protection while closing here recently, so I cleaned out the tracks and sprayed them with silicone spray. No creak and no jam after that. Just a matter of keeping it clean.

Other than that, between re-configuring my dash layout and testing new mods I am slowly working on, I have had the dash apart about 50 times Still no rattles there.

Overall, I am more than happy with the car.

Got my tC July 04 and it has about 36,XXX. The only problem I've had is the paint on the rear passenger side bubbled up. Warranty covered that so its all good.

19,XXX on my 05, got it in Feb of 05. Still has that new car smell :D Only complaints are the clutch/throw-out bearing/clutch fork squeak, the rattles, and a few chipped areas. Other than that, it's been one great car

Been a 05 owner since november 04. So far have put close to 76k on it. Still love driving it, now so more than ever since adding a few mods. The only issues i've had so far have been my sun visor breaking and some electrical glitches in the windows and sunroof. Stock tires are still on, not much tread left, but I'm be getting new tires real soon.

I got mine in September of 2004, I've put 49,000 miles on it. I still love the car, looks amazing, runs great, looking forward to making it run a little bit faster. I have the standard wear and tear, probably more chips then most since i live in the desert... rocks galore....

I just got my '05 in March with 21,XXX miles. I have yet to get at least 20mpg, but I mostly drive in city traffic and when I'm on the interstate, I'm going around 85 or so. I still might take it to the dealership to see if there's something going on there. Other than that and the sunroof popping on uneven road I have no complaints (well, other than some jerk caused an accident on the interstate and did some serious damage to my car). I should be getting it back this week, though. Yay!

About 41k since April '05. Still going great. Some sunroof creaking starting when it's open - but I plan on spraying the crap out of it soon. No rattles that I notice.

Had a seal on the rear hatch glass replaced under warranty in Winter of 2005-6. That's all that it's had to spend in the shop other than my own doings.

Gas mileage is still great. I can get 30+ on road trips (31+ twice even!). Overall average is about 24-25 during the week with mostly city driving.

Still zero complaints about this car and don't regret it a bit.

That mileage does sound wrong tc girl. I have driven about 5 times back and forth to OK in mine. I set the cruise on 80-85 the whole way and always average 29-30 mpg on each trip.

42k - bought with 4k back in Oct 05. Still love the ride--I keep it clean and everyone makes jokes of how I clean it up and then put it in the garage with a car cover. lol. when I first saw the car i didn't know what it was and I couldn't get the image out my head. When i finally went to get a car I saw it parked and knew that's what I wanted. I prayed about it cuss i didn't have a car of my own for 4 months before that. So every day i soak it up and roll whenever possible. Paint has chips in the front but touch up paint and three stage wax turns heads everytime. I finally learned how to keep reverse from grinding. I thought I didn't know how to drive but my neighbor told me how the tranny is out of sync and going into 1st and then reverse was the key. Presto..... I havn't even touched the engine so who knows how much more I will love it after that lol. I did have an issue with the sunroof making wind noise. I took it to the dealer but it came back 4 months later. I did the sunroof reset and it never has come back. The hatch rattles sometimes but if you were in my car club you would probably know the cause. They say my quarter panels breath at times.
