i beg to differ...

i have had my 08 since the summer of 2007

my safc has read 6800 as my highest rev...

i havent really tested when n where it will allow u to go past 6500 rpms but i know in some gear si can and others i cant

im pretty sure that in second gear my rev limit is 6650 and i know for a fact ive gotten 6800 outta 3rd gear....

another fact about the 08 tc is that when it hits rev limiter it will def bounce(soft cut) but it still allows u to continue slightly more before the HARD cut kicks in in high rpms i know also that in 1st gear its just hard cut not soft

I can not understand your question here. You seemed confused about some things, but I can not help you, If I dont know what question you are trying to convey. Try re-wording your question.

Do you mean, Is it bad to hit the rev limiter when shifting from first to second?

im turbo so me taking it that high is useful but for n/a applications shifting at 6k is optimal thats what i used to do and how i ran my best times

turbo or not around 6500 is real high, think about the stress you are putting on the engine at that point and hitting the limiter cannot be more useful than just shifting. i am not talking about those who raise their rev limit b/c of their turbos.

when the 05-06 hit redline it keeps bouncing at redline and the same goes with the 08+ but with the 07 when you hit 6500 it hits fuel cut off and you lose power but then it picks up and it stays at 6500 but it's better to shift than to stay at that rpm because you wouldn't want to blow your motor or tranny and if you do hold it at 6500rpms then when you shift your exhaust will blow a bunch of black smoke out.

^^no it is not good too redline all the time and sit there and rev until it redlines. Also it is not good practice to shift the auto like it is a manual. Those gears are really there for hills and stuff.

^exactly you shouldn't do it on the auto unless your going up a steep hill at a slow speed but put it in 3 instead of L because your gonna put alot of stress on the tranny and gears.

hence me asking...why would someone in the right mind do this?

and with and auto starting in "L" and shifting up while accelerating hard is probably one of the easiest ways of destroying your tranny
