Default 2005 Scion tC Trade In Value (Check it!)

Here is Kelly Blue Book's **Trade In Value** for my car:

http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/kw.kc.u...0tC&1;SI;TC&&&

I just got $17,000 for it, trade-in value at the dealership.

Yea, the link doesn't work. He's getting rid of this tC to get into a way reducded priced Chevy Truck. He's getting back into his Pervious hobby. ;)

Yeah, damn link doesn't work. Anyways:

2005 Scion tC
5600 miles
Leather/Suede Interior
Side Airbags
etc, etc, etc.

Trade in value according to Kelly Blue Book is $15,400.

I got $17,000 and I have some scratch damage to the clear coat(estimate was $152 to buff it out).

Yes, I am returning to my previous hobby. Once a mini-trucker, always a mini-trucker...even though this one is a full size(only my 2nd fullsize truck project).

I was always into that scene prior to buying an xB, then the import scene caught my attention and I traded for a tC...but I need more room and versatility to carry larger items that won't fit in the tC. Plus, having a truck will come in handy when I buy a house sometime later this year.

I was surprised at how well it held up on resale value, of course the xB had really good resale value too.

I have been keepin track of used vehicles on autotrader.com and used tC are going for the same as new if not more . Trust me the thought of trading my tC in and getting a few extra bucks on the side from the deal has crossed my mind but I like my tC to much to let her go , Especially since our gas prices went back up here . I love having trucks (redneck so sue me) but if I were ever to get another truck it would be a V8 and these gas prices are just to high to put into a vehicle that gets 14 mpg LOL .plus since I got the windows tinted it just looks to damn good to let go <G>

Just make sure they are not ripping you off on the price of the truck. Sometimes it looks like you get a good deal, but that money gets added somewhere else to compensate.

it'd be great of the 06 is a bit more different than the 05.. then you can all trade in your 05 for the 06 XD

damn that sucks.. KBB trade-in value on my tC was like 14,000.. probably because I said condition was only "good" (small ding on rear passenger side of body from some A-hole hitting my car with his door, and a PLETHORA of paint missing from the front of the car... ). Well, i'm sure the 25k i have on it doesn't help either. lol.

HA HA HA. nevermind.. i just checked again, i was totally off. KBB trade-in value for my car-- $12,350!! WHAT A JOKE. .. boy, I'm screwed when I go to trade this car in.

Wyldkard consider yourself extremely lucky!! I rarely hear of anyone getting MORE for their car when they trade it in than what they paid for it to begin with.

Yeah, I noticed this a month or so ago. I paid $16.5 OTD new and it is still worth $16,450 trade in and like $18K private party (over $20K retail but that figure is always real high). Of course this doesnt count the extras Ive put in it...

kbb said mine at 8000 miles was still worth 17K. I was happy about that, but who in their right mind would pay that much for a car with a base price of 16K? If a dealership would give me 17K for my car right now, I would consider trading it in.

Umm...it's less, but still $17K ain't too bad. Mine was somewhere like $17,250 with the side air bags and then at *cough* $1300 *cough* for the leather/suede upgrade and it's around $18,550.

Also, The $15,400 that KBB listed for my trade in was rated as a "GOOD" rating only too.

Wow, sad to see this happen. Ive never had a car as my primary driving vehical till I got the tC, I hope I dont get bored of it and go back to a truck. Ive only had the tC less than a month and miss driving my truck. Its starting to scare me, good luck with your new truck!
