Default 2005 tC Paint Issues

Has anyone out there had problems with the paint on `05 tC's? My Azure Pearl tC has yet to suffer from any other nuisances mentioned in these forums, but I have noticed some "stains" which appear to be under the clearcoat. Also, while driving on the freeway, my car was splattered by mud from a passing truck, and when I attempted to clean it off, it seems as if the paint was stained. I am reluctant to have warranty repair done, because blue paint is hard to match, and aftermarket paint jobs sometimes do not hold up over time.

Any suggestions?

we had a scion in which the tarp covering the cars as it was shipped left a weird mark on the paint from the moisture inside the cargo freight. a tsb was released explaining how to fix it with carfeul use of a heat gun mixed with a polish that removed the stain.

if this is the stain your reffering to go to the dealer that you bought your scion and have them inspect the paint. the paint on the car is covered under the warranty as long as its not wear and tear.

this problem is nation wide, I've noticed it aon SEVERAL of my Scion's and i'd suggest that you contact your local dealer and ask that SCION cover it under warranty!

Thank you for the input, Scion reps. Now that the problem has (hopefully) been identified, I can rest a bit easier. Have any Scion people seen the fixed results?

The staining is eerily similar to that on my `87 Camry, but that was on 16-year old paint! I just hope that the hood won't need repainting.

Again, thanks to all for their input.

At least I'm not the only one. The paint quality is reminiscent of Toyotas past (80's-early 00's). I will be taking my tC to the dealership ASAP. Have any owners had any experience with this issue from beginning to end?

Buddy I have exactly what you've experienced. The dealer saw it before giving it to me. I never really noticed it cause I have the black one. Anyway they just repaired it. I think they repainted the hood cause you can't really remove it by just using a clay bar cause its underneath the coat. You should contact your dealer.
