Default 2009 Scion TC

Hey guys, my girl is looking at trading her 2006 black sand pearl in for a 2009 super white TC. I was just wondering if Scion has made any changes from 2008 to 2009? I can't find any info on the new one.

Thanks for the info guys.

not enough done to it to trade in her current tC. id say keep it unless she really wants it, can afford it and or is in need of a "newer year"?

Why?

Is she having trouble with her 06? Just cause you have lower payments doesn't mean you OWE less.

She isn't having any problems with the car as a matter of fact it has been a great car. She will be going back to college in the fall and would like a lower payment. I understand that she will owe more on the car but i have ran the numbers and she is only going to need to finance around 9 on the car and can pay that off in 3 or 4 years with a very low monthly payment.
The reason for trading it in for a new one is that even though she loves the car, she has put it through a lot, with traveling 70 miles a day for work on New England highways and it shows a LOT. 50+ rock chips and a few scratches. (the new one will have a 3m clear bra) and also the fact that she doesn't have a lot of extra cash to throw in for repairs if anything happened.
There are also other things having to do with the tittle that i won't get into. Don't worry this is not a rash decision and its not just a teenager getting bored and wanting a new car. She really has put her ducks in a line so to speak and it makes great sense if you knew the whole situtation

O yea one more thing she wants a Stick! I got to hold on to this one.

If she's worried about warranty and wants lower payments, she can just refinance the car. Most institutions also offer some form of mechanical breakdown insurance too....

Just a thought. No sense to owe more money on basically the same car, when she can come closer to owning the one she has, free and clear!

Exactly, refinance the car. The dealer will be more than happy to trade in your current car for a new one and finance that because they'll get much more money out of you in the end, though.

I say keep it. A friend of mine that works at a local Toyota Dealership told me that Scion is thinking of coming out with either a upgrade TC by the end of this year or just another type of Design. It doesn't hurt to wait a coupe months and see what they have coming up.

Well she isn't planning on doing anything until next spring becuase she doesn't want to put it through anymore New England winters then she has to. By then hopefully there will be some hard facts on what is to come in the future.

Just an FYI:

For 2009 the tC only has 2 changes.

1) The seat fabric is updated from silver to black luster accent dots for a more "upscale" look

2) It now has a cabin air filter

That is all. :D

I seen two SW tC's at a meet recently and one was an '08 and the other was an '07 (or earlier)...

The SW paint on the '08 was whiter and looked better... and before you say anything.. the '07 or earlier tC was very well taken care of....

I talked to both owners as they compared their cars... it looks like the paint on the newer SW was was slightly changed.

Just an observation...
