Very sad. Can you imagine, swerving to avoid something happening in the road, thinking you're all good on the shoulder, then seeing pretty much the worst thing possible? I feel bad for him, what a nightmare.

Very unfortunate. Lets all try to learn a lesson here. Pay attention to the road at all times. This kind of thing can happen to anyone. My thoughts will be with his family through what will most definatly be a rough time.

So, I'm reading the article and get to the last line, the police officer's quote: "It was bad," said Sgt. Joseph Vassallo. So I'm thinking he's going to go on about the horrific accident scene. Instead he goes on, "You couldn't get through town at all. It was noon before you could drive through town easily." Oops, my bad, he was talking about how the decedent driver #^$%ed up the morning commute.

That's horrible. This thing could have probably been prevented. Cell phone talking, reading, putting on make up, shaving, eating etc. (anything that goes beyond talking to the passenger) needs to carry the same penalty as a DUI. Public roads are not there there for racing or eating your sandwich. They are there to get you from point A to point B, and that's it!

Hey I was there! the traffic took forever for my girl and she got to work crazy late but didn't even recognize that it was one of our's. Got to be careful on the road out there...
