Best thing to do is call up your dealership (or whereever you get it done) and ask them directly. Prices and such might vary.

edmunds.com has a list of what you should do.

One of the things you got with your car tells you what they do...its a thin booklit and is like a maintence log.

^^ may I ask what? AFAIK I know they really don't do anything other than an oil change, tire rotate, and visually inspecting a few things (although they don't usually do that at all...).

yeah for the transmission it says to change the fluid, for autos. where the manual and scion.com don't say to do that, they "claim" it's "for life".. um, no fluid is "for life"..

So for you of there out there that have an Automatic trans on your tC, get the trans fluid changed at 30,000. Cheaper than burning up your trans later!

Also, it is a good idea to check what the manufacturer--Toyota--recommends you do, in conjunction with the Edmunds website, which is a handy link.

Think of it this way, he could've just reported the thread and had it locked. I'm sure this has been posted many times before.

If you're too lazy, to walk down to your car and read the maintenance booklet, or the mere suggestion that you do so throws you into an existential crisis, you probably shouldn't be driving.

nonsense items? an air filter is HARDLY non-sense! and ya you go ahead and never change an automatic's tranny fluid, and see what happens. lol

I didn't even read the link maybe you should settle down, seriously. It was just an informative fast reply because I was busy, someone p!ss in your cornflakes or WHAT? Oh, and I didn;t tell him to go to the dealer, he could have used it as reference elsewhere? Jesus, learn to understand, you make me want to openly cry for you. I assume you didn't understand how I used the word "they" towards the scion dealer who gave us the stuff. Not "they" towards a person or the link. I havent been a dick in any post I have made, but from your one post I can tell you obviously have.

Yes and no. I'd watch the brakes starting at 40k. I see a lot of front brake jobs done at the 45k maintenances.
