Default 45% Tint in the front and 20% in the back 3 windows..

Is this is good idea? I dont want to get pull over by the cops, but yet have some kind of tint in the front for UV protection and a slight tint. And in the back I would like to be able to see at night, do you guyd think 20% at night will be okay? My vision is currently 150, 150 for both eyes.

You should see what's legal in California. Tomas posted it somewhere, just search for a post by him involving tint. I would recommend going as low as the law will allow, unless the law allows lower than 15%....in which case you should stop at 15%. Anything darker than that is too dark.

its not noticeable. i have limo in the back and 15% in the front. the legal tint for CA is any in the rear, and 70% in the front. which is nothing really. 20% clearly at night. hell yeah, more clear than limo in my case....

Mine right now is 20% all the way around. I would stick with one persentedge all the way around cause if not it looks goffy. If you want tinted window an sceeeerd to get a ticket then go with 35% all the way around. If you want to look bad ___ go for 20% all the way around, makes the car look hot, spchialy with super white!

what color tint are you getting? black or charcoal/grey? metallic or non-metallic? these all affect the amount of light transmitted into the car and how reflective the tint is from the outside. cheap tint simply darkens your windows (and turns purple over time). quality tint doesnt fade and allows more light to come in without reducing privacy.

black tint.. People is telling me to get 35% all around, but Im afraid to get pull over. So I was thinking to just do 20% or 25% in the back. Our car ready come with 70% stock UV tint I believe for the back. So if I went 20% in the back, and since the back is factory tinted at 70% wouldn't the reseult be 15% in the back, even if I tinted 20% ?

And would the car look goofy, I just tinted the back and leave the front as it is? Thanks guy, for your response.

maybe this is just be, but I would say that 5% is by far the best looking tint on a supa white tc because of the contrast in colors, throw some konig unknowns on there and you got yourself an eyecatcher no matter what state you in! SCHHHHHMMMMOOOOOOKIN!!!!

Regardless of what ryan9800 says, getting different tints does not look bad at all. It actually makes sense. When I went to get my car tinted, I was considering 25% on the sides, quarters, and rear. You can't tint the front windshield in Texas at all. After talking to the tint guy and looking at samples of tint, I decided on what I wanted. In fact, he recommended not getting the same tint all the way around because I wouldn't like it. He said 25% isn't going to be dark enough in the back. After living with the tint a while, I can definitely say I'm glad I went with what I did.

I ended up getting 0% front, 30% sides, 15% quarters, and 15% rear. This actually creates a more natural look from the outside of the car, because at the front the car is lightest, the rear it is darkest, and it transitions in the middle. It also looks correct inside the car, because you still want to be able to see out of your side windows. The rear should absolutely be darkest because of bright headlights at night in your rearview. With a car tinted 0% on the front and 20% the rest of the way, it's actually going to look strange because there isn't a natural flow of light from the front of the car to the back. The front windshield will look very out of place. Just remember, from the outside of the car it's difficult to notice the difference between 30% and 15%. It just "looks right," but it's hard to tell exactly why. Remember, it's not what you think the tint is, it's how good it looks.

Also, I highly recommend Llumar metal tint. Ask about it at the tint shop. It's a very high quality tint, has a lifetime manufacturer warranty, and looks black just like any other tint. However, it blocks out about 20% more heat than non-metal tint, making your ride much more pleasant in the summer.

Wow 06tC, I love your post. You really done it this time. Hmmm, I think 30% would be too dark for me. The shop recommended me to do 35% front and 20% rear and back. Basically what you did, but 5% lighter.. My brother is just telling me to do 45% and 30% to play it safe..

As for playing it safe, I would just follow local laws. If you can get 30%, I'd say go with it. It's not as dark as you may think. I could have gone with 25%, but tint isn't exact. Even my "30%" tint is probably something more like 32%, and over time it'll darken to 30% or maybe even less. Just because of how imprecise it can be, I went 5% from legal just to play it safe. But you should definitely give yourself a little breathing room for the law. Getting your windows re-tinted would not be fun, and probably not covered under the tint's warranty.

The people at the shop will definitely know what they're talking about. If you go with 45% like your brother said, you might as well not get them tinted at all. You won't notice enough of a difference to make it worth your money at that point. Tint is pretty important to get right the first time.

i have 35% tint all around and I haven't been pulled over once. Most cops wont pull you over for such a weak tint, as long as they can see you through the windows, you should be fine. I wish I had gone 25% though.

Cops if they dont have anything to site you for, they'll site you for your tint. They'll ask you to roll up your windows, and they'll do tint scanner thing. Even on 45% tint! Really outragerous. But mostly, these are Honda and Acura that getting pulled over the most.

if you're that worried about the cops, then go for the 45% tint, but I'm just warning you that its not going to be dark at all. 35% is good as well.
