Default about 06 scion tc original tire ~need help

Recently, i drove my 06 tc on the highway and hydroplane the whole car to hit the wall. My dear 06tc all crashed. It was a shower day and i only drove at 50 MPH. I bought my scion last NOV. and had only 10k miles. Moreover, i did switch my 4 tires when the mileage was 5000. Now, i need some infomation providing to insurance company to help myself. Could anyone give me some information about 06tc original tire report or any useful data about when OE tires go through the rain or wet road? I really need your helps~~thx

My OE tire is bridegestone all seasoned.

After blowing one of my tires within three days after i bought mine, i found out that many of the tcs came with different tires. Mine came with bridgestone turanza, and i have heard of many coming with yokohamas.

if you had the bridgestone potenza RE92s. they're ____, call toyota or bridgestone, those things are seriously dangerous.

I guess the Yokohamas are ok then? That's what I got...

to the OP: Maybe try looking at specs for the 06 tc available here, and on other places on the web? You'd probably get what you were looking for, I think. Try google maybe? Let us know if you have any problems!

glad you are ok

thx all guys,i really appreciate that. cuz i am an international student, i am still ovecoming the language barrier. I will do my best to search some information and wish its really helpful. My car insurance estimated the cost of car repair is around $15,000(almost a new car price), so they said they may estimate the car value after depreciation and directly return my money instead of fix my car. really thx you all

which would have been fun if there wasn't a guardrail and a silverado about 5 inches away

ordered new neo-gens the day after....love them, they STICK in the rain

to be honest. there are no real tire data facts out there, but i can tell you for a fact, ask ANYONE who's driven on the RE92s and they are seriously dangerous, i replaced them within the first month. and yes the yokohama's are actually decent compared to those.

Mine came with the Potenzas... it rains... the car thinks it's ice skating... I'll be replacing them as soon as I can. Too bad you can't go to the dealer and say "these tires REALLY SU(K!!! Even in rain I'm sliding everywhere, I want new tires!!!"

everyone needs to call scion and let them know, i think they finally switched to g009 and yokohamas, but there are still tCs out there with the RE92s.

my tC came with Turanza EL400-02 and they are actually pretty good in the rain, but I only have 1400 miles on them. My friend had RE92's in his Maxima and almost wrecked the car in the rain. My mom has them on her Honda Odyssey and even with 4000+ lbs., hydroplaning is still very present.

are you all exagerrating about the re92s? there must be thousands of tc's out there with re92s and if its as bad as the people say in this thread, they are all bound to get into accidents sooner or later, is this true?

I've got the Yokos and they are amazing in the rain. Check your sidewall and if you see the phrase "M+S technology," those are great tires. The yokos have them and I believe the NeoGens do aswell. NeoGens just don't last that long. I am looking at the Pirelli P-Zero Neros. A friend of mine has them on his GSX and they are nasty sticky. He says that sometimes they are too sticky b/c he wants to burn out but they don't let him slip for much time. That's a good test when he's pushing around 380 hp.
