It was porbably a Universal. Magnaflow would do a good job with a tC specific. All the after narcket exhausts I've seen on tC's so far have been custom fabricated. Which is a route you can go if you know a good shop that won't rip you.,

I would just buy an Apex'i or Tanabe muffler and have piping welded on at a shop. Cheaper and just as good.

hmm i never really understood actually buyign a cat-back system- when you can tell your shop what size pipe and have them weld ur choice of pipe from the cat to your choice of muffler. usually cheaper and you got to pick everything out. did that on my sunfire.

stock pipes were 1.75. i went to 2.25 from the cat took out the resonator and have a magnaflow muffler. i ALWAYS get compliments on hwo it sounds. and cost me less than 200 bucks. and im in CA so prices are higher here.

I personally want to know how it sounds and what the performace is like before I put it on.

I don't want to go to loud, for the obvious legal reasons and because its just plain annoying, and if the gain is 2 HP like the TRD exhaust, then whats the point?

Plus its only cheap if you know a good shop. Some shops will fleece you just because they can.

Defeats the purpose, muffler shops don't mandrel bend their pipes. They use the crease method which practically reduces the pipe to half it's size at the bends.

Some do mandrel bends, and those who don't can use pre-made madrel joints and weld togather a custom exhaust. Just because you have an exhaust done locally doesn't mean it can't be mandrel-bent.

^ thank you

ACTUALLY msot every shop i called PRESSURE bent there pipes which is VERY VERY NEAR the performance of mandrel. and its called CRUSH bent pipe and yes it is absolutely horrendous. NEVER EVER pay for an crush bent exhaust or one that is clamped together and not welded.

getting your exhaust is the cheapest way to get equal or very very slightly less gains than a premade cat back.

say greddy makes a premade tC cat back with 2.25 pipe madrel bent and a muffler. their price is $500

you order the greddy muffler online, you go to your local exhaust shop that has a pressure or madrel bending machine and tell them to bend up 2.25 pipes from the cat back and use the supplied muffler. and guess what? you have the EXACT SAME SET UP:D good right? well it gets better-

just getting pipes bent up and installed at a shop will cost less than 100 dollars. and unless the greddy muff costed more than 400 bucks you just saved yourself some SERIOUS cash for the same performance/sound/look.

when i got my exhaust done on my sunfire it was 99 for the magnaflow muffler and 99 for pressure bent pipes 2.25 from the cat back and the resonator removed. total = 200 bucks

IMO custom exhaust are the BEST CHEAPEST way to go. the number prove it too. only time i would consider prefabbed kits is when going for a all brand name car. so you could tell people you have the GREDDY CAT BACK SYSTEM.

Theres not a single dyno chart that states that. That 2 HP figure was pulled out of thin air on another post as in "I cant imagine it making more than 2 HP"

Axle-backs can make more HP than Cat-backs. The Lexus proves it. Not all the time, but dont post statements unless there is something to back it up.

Just cause the internet says so, doesnt make it so.
