Default airbag light on center console always on, is this normal?

ever since Ive had the car, ive noticed the airbag light in the center console light stays on

but the on/off stays unLit.

so the word "airbag" is only lit.

is this normal?

my car is new.
I thought it was normal and never thought about it until now.

Ive never done anything to the light aside from swapping the dome light with leds?

the word air bag is on, but not the on off light? what does that mean?

mine is like that too. im 99% sure its normal.

older cars have a keyhole where you can shut the passenger airbag off...although im not sure why you would want to do that...?

mine is one also, im think its normal... the on/off light is triggered by weight, other cars let you turn it off so that if you are carrying something in the pass seat and dont want to the airbag to go off should you have an accident you can turn it off, like when i went to buy my books for this semester, i put them on my pass seat and it turned the airbag on...

Yes, orange is right. Its triggered by weight. Like how it beeps if there is weight on the passenger seat but their seatbelt isnt on. Its for the fact not to waste the airbag if no one is in it IMO.

anything before an 07 just had a light that lit on the center console if there was weight in the seat and the seatbelt is off. The 07 and up have a light that says airbag, and should be on all the time. The one in the gauges isnt what he is talking about. If that one is on, you have no working airbag system.

And the reason they put a way to turn them off spawned from pickups. You have to have a child up front there.. and they dont want the airbag killing them. Yes, airbags can be that dangerous.
