I got it for free, so I might as well use it, right? The people who installed it kind of dinged my grille when they placed the hooks on the grille. I have never seen a tc with a front end mask. If you have one, can you post pics.

be sure to take it off often and wash underneath it. i've seen them collect dirt and act like sandpaper on your paint. personally i'm not a fan of them on any car. if you take a long trip, wash the front end really well and cover the whole thing with automotive masking tape. much less chance of paint damage

no scratches when i removed it. those scion ******** don't know how to install it and damaged my grille. It's about a 1cm chip. I took it off, and plan to put it on when i go on a road trip.

Eh, I don't think its ever meant to look good, really... it's just something you deal with to prevent damage.
I know some people live in some crappy areas... but at least for me, I've been able to just get by by just keeping long following distances on the highway, not staying behind trucks (especially concrete tankers) or trucks with large tires/lift kits for long periods of time, etc.
I guess I'll just keep crossing my fingers!
However, if I had a really long road trip, I might consider it. Just make sure you get a high quality one, and put it on while its clean. Take it off after the rain (otherwise it will trap moisture and "haze" the paint)
But yea, as 2fast4you showed, even with all the necessary precautions + a quality bra, you can still get damaged anyway
