Default WTF

Isnt this a forum for passing along information regarding our cars?? Why then do you persist in constantly displaying your worthless opinions on why someone should wear their seatbelt, and secondly what business is it of any of yours!! So if you have anything that would help with the original topic for this post, please send the information, but cut the crap, you little children!!!

I agree with you. Sometimes I get in just to move the car around and that beep... gets in my nerves! And for all you wise guys, with your statistics 2.444&*%%^#%@^$^... 3.23753(^$&&^%$#^... seconds! ADMIT IT it is anoying if you're only driving a few feet... On that note, here it is!

Seat Belt Warning Disable

•Make sure odometer (not trip meter) is active before starting.
•Turn key to "on" position - do not start the car just turn the key.
•Immediately after turning the key, press and hold the trip meter reset button.
•Keep holding in button and after 10-12 sec. attach the driver's side seatbelt.
•A message of "b-off" (disable) or "b-on" (enable) should appear in the odometer to show that it was done correctly.

Take care!!!

Here's the reason I wear my seatbelt:

See how there's no window....seatbelt stopped me from continuing forward into the A-pillar...heads can fight windows good...but not metal.

Get over yourselves, you self-righteous morons.
just curious, but why don't you take your seat belt off after you park??
I take it off when I drive in my complex because I have to get out and check my mail. Once I do that, I'd have to put it back on to drive into my garage.

This topic is the epitome of Americans today. Not only is everyone getting fatter by the minute and lazy as hell in every aspect of life, but when it comes to putting a seat belt on (that is there to protect you), that is just too much to ask. If I had it my way, I'd make it so anyone that got into any car accident, would get crippled and die. For those that were willing to do the great task of fastening up would live.

Kiss my ___. I never said I was driving my car out in a city street without my seatbelt. I've been in a very serious accident and a seatbelt saved my life. I wear it at all times when I'm driving but in the parking lot of my housing development it's not necessary.

Fortunately you don't have your way, but I'm sure you do no wrong so you're in a great place to stand in judgment of others.

Sadly, yes.

I used to batter my business partner unmercifully about his getting in his monster SUV and driving the 1.1 miles to the gym in good weather so he could use the machines and do two miles on their indoor track. *sigh*

As to parking lot disasters, at my last apartment's parking lot, marked at "5 MPH," there was more than one injury accident in the lot while I lived there. Idiots would come flying around a blind corner and slam into whatever was there.

I'm not saying that you HAVE to buckle up in your parking lot, but looking at it rationally it helps to reinforce in one's mind the "always buckle up" habit. Besides, if the time/distance/danger is so minimal between mail check and garage, the few beeps on hears are easily ignorable, eh?

(Myself, I can't even drive out of the garage to park in the driveway to wash the car without buckling up - that comes from 38 years of doing it, and having it reinforced by my employers - from the USAF through the old Bell System, to my small company. Is it an effort to take the few seconds to buckle up? No, absolutely not. It would be an effort to NOT do it. That's what comes of having a well reinforced habit.)

OMG this thread is hilarious!

i NEVER wear my seat belt, and I encourage you to do the same. It's fun, and it gets even funner when you have a few beers in your system. But if you really want to enjoy yourself you should also try to max out your top speed. I usually do it in a residential neighborhood, near schools. Im thinking of getting my seatbelts ripped out so noone can where them. I hate when them wimps get in my car and the first thing they do is buckle up.

For real though guys, lighten up. It was a simple question. I always wear my seatbelt, but I hate the annoying beaping, I can remember to do it on my own. I usually sit in my after I start it, to let it warm up, among other things I'm usually eating breakfast or reading documents while it warms up, so I do not want to hear that mess.

Oh yeah and buckle up!

another way to stop both the light and the beep, is to get a buckle from the junkyard (or someones wrecked car) and just pop it in

Why Cheetoes? Hell yeah they're good, but you get orange spooge all over everything. I personally would recommend Pop-Tarts and be careful with the crumbs.

"... I DONT NEED A IDIOT BEEP TO TELL ME TO PUT ON MY BELT, I JUST DO IT!"
Then you don't have the beep bothering you, do you?

(BTW: Please don't yell.)

Because you typed like this with the CAPS on, I refused to read it because it strains my eyeballs. Please rewrite the above paragraph in lower case please.

Here we go with the seatbelt preaching, so I will give you a scenario. Sometimes I am constantly driving back and forth from building to building, carrying equipment back and forth. This is all across a very large parking lot, no roadways, so it is annoying as hell to either put my belt on, take it off, put it on... etc, or have to listen to that annoying belt as I drive 5 mph for a few minutes each time. I ALWAYS wear one when driving except in that situation... so maybe some people are reffereing to situations like that.....

i do that too, every single weekday after work. i dont think i hear the beeping anymore. i think ive learned to tune it out....that or maybe i've learned to bucklet my seat before i turn on the engine....or maybe my music is so loud i cant hear it anymore...anyway, less talking to myself...more forum... the only time i really hear it is if i'm on my cell phone about to get out of the car and the person on the other line is like "WTF is that loud noise?"

anyway, im sure you guys can cut a wire. which one? who knows. go for the red one.

Are you supposed to hold the odo button then click your seat belt, or unclick your seat belt. I read somewhere else that you are supposed to have it already clicked, and then unclick after about 10-12 secs. But i havent been able to get either way working. Is it supposed to be exactly 10-12 secs? Do i need a timer?

Make sure you are pressing the 'sunroof open' button too.

ya i agree it is annoying as hell! sometimes i don't feel like putting it on right away, or dont feel like wearing it. i buckled up probably 95% of the time, its there to help save your life. toyota focuses on safety, and it if takes that "beep beep beep" to put your seat belt on, then they have accomplished their goal. not trying to be rude like some people i c have been, but just put the damn thing on, it will be worth it!
