Another tC Cruisin' the SF Bay Area
I was very surprised to find out my tC was dropped off at my dealership yesterday, so I hurried home after work to go down and pick it up. No TRD springs installed, but my exhaust, 6 disc changer, and floor mats were all there, and nothing else I didn't want. The springs are on order, but in the meantime, I do have a great new car to drive around.
I have a 40+ mile commute from the East Bay to Marin county so I got up early and took the scenic route today, through San Francisco and across the Golden Gate bridge (the free direction, of course). Part of that drive goes through city streets so it allows me to vary the speeds and RPM nicely. I didn't want to cruise in on the freeway and not get a chance to break in the engine properly. I'll probably try to go to work a few different ways for the first 1000 miles (which is really only 2 weeks for me).
So if you see a Black tC around with 15% tint on the rear three windows (I'll be taking care of that tomorrow), it's probly jus' me.

ALL BAY AREA tC OWNERS:
Please check the "Regional-Pacific-Mid" Section to keep up with all the NOR*CAL SF Bay Area Meets. And feel free to post there as well. Also check in the club forum, "Nor Cal". There are a few team and clubs you can find out about at the meets, or you can stay "UN-Affiliated"...
...little shot at some of my club member peeps...
There are quite a few Scion owners in the area and we meet semi-often. I'm sure we would all enjoy the involement of our tC bros&sis'ss...

Cool, I'll be looking for you guys on the roads...so far I saw one SS on the road in San Rafael about two weeks ago. Was that anyone here?
I'm very happy with the tC so far. It always feels like it wants to go faster. I've driven it up through SF twice (yesterday and again this morning) and even uphill, it wants to go faster. I guess the torque sweet spot is just about perfect.
The interior is great. The quality is good and I haven't heard any weird noises (except that sunroof creak when you hit a bump at low speed). I folded down the front passenger seat (take off the headrest) and made a "chaise lounge" out of the front and rear seats and took a 30 minute nap in the car. Not super comfortable, but not bad. What other car can do that anyway?
The only slight disappointment I have is with cornering. I was driving an '03 Matrix, and I expected improvements over it with the tC, for obvious reasons (not that the Matrix is a terrible handler, but it's tall and the frame is not very stiff). So far, I don't notice a significant improvement. Of course, I am waiting for my TRD springs, so I'm guessing that will make a big difference in cornering. Right now, I'd have to say the tC can feel a bit squirrely cornering at medium high speeds.

Me and a SS tC took turns following each other across the San Rafael bridge all the way down 80 through Berkeley. It was a mini tC parade!
Cool having both our tC's together cruisin through the traffic together. I was on my way to my window tinting appt. though so he might not recognize me if he sees me again...
I don't think it was one of you guys; probably someone who doesn't post here.

If you see a BSP tC on 280 with a red scion 101 plates thats me. I got mine in Redwood City a week and a half ago and already put in 650 miles on it. So far there has been no problems with it i.e. roof creaking or such, pretty quite on the road. I also run up and down on highway 1 to Half Moon Bay. Hope to see tC owners out there.
Sounds cool guys...I've seen about 3 tCs since I ordered mine on 7/14...all Flint Mica like mine will be. Well, at least only one was in San Jose, the other two were in the E. Bay (one was an Asian guy driving on 80 E. in El Cerrito or Richmond) about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Well, when mine gets here next week, I'll be representin' East Side San Jose. Haven't seen one around yet except for the ones being test driven around Capitol Toyota. BTW, I went to go check on my order today in person. My dealer told me the other person who ordered a FM picked theirs up yesterday. Is that someone on this forum??
I'm in SJ, usually cruisin up and down the 101 to Palo Alto.....seen 3 tC's since I bought mine 3 weeks ago. Got a flint mica auto w/tint, gonna install the lowering springs in a couple of days....if ya see me, throw me a wave!!!
