Any GEICO employees on ScionLife? I need advice.
Car got broken into. Modifications (particularly all my CF mods) were ripped off. So I was thinking of "declaring" to Geico some of the major aftermarket parts I have. Mainly my MOMO rims and my S/C.
Was wondering by declaring about 2.5k in mods (2k for S/C and about 1.5k for rims) how much will my insurance go up?

Im pretty sure you would have to upgrade to a "Showcar" type of insurance where they would be able to cover all the aftermarket parts on your car.
I have Geico myself and wondered about the same thing you are so I asked and that was the answer I got, I had to upgrade to Showcar insurance....he didn't mention how much more expensive it was but he said "it will be a pretty penny"

Well, I have AAA and I just added my S/C to the policy and I added my sound system...but they wouldnt cover wheel...
So your rim got jacked thats fcked. I would try to claiming the rims but i dont think its going happen..

Hey Boss..........what you need to do is have them iinsure you for "Agreed Value".......
What that is is for when you have a show car or modified car or classic car and the amount of mods are over 10% of the book value..........in example stock you rcar retails for $15,000.........your mods are $1500.........thus they need to insure for agreed value of $16500..........many companies willnot do it........Farmers has fought me tooth and nail about it........I got nearly $5000 in the car in 6 months...........not including the stereo that is soon to go in.
A good company to call is Hagerty Insurance........they insure only Tuners and Classics..........they have a long list of rules..........and I meen rules.......no snow driving........weather conditions are the big one...........but they are one of the best to deal with in the industry.........they under stand you are puttign X amount of money into your car and want it covered....period.
The guy in the Porsche that backed into me had them and they said point blank go to where ever you wnat to get estamate and send it to us and we will cut you a check on the spot...........and they did.........not a argument on me wanting bumper replaced or any thing..........
If you goto them explain your car is a show car.........but that you like to drive it........say nothing about going to store in it or to work.........rates go up fast with that..........they know we drive our cars........
I had them for my 70 GTO and to get it insured they had to give me a list of rules 3 pages long..........one was no driving inthe snow.........another was hard rains.......but I was insured for agreed value of $30,000.........so I had a lot of rules........

So the daily drivers should say what? and the ppl that live in the north are screwed no snow driving....If I have work they dont care what the conditions are as long as i get there lol

What you need to do is get a quote. You can get a free quote and they won't raise your rates.
I signed up for GEICO and when I did it specifically asked if I had any custom parts on my car. So that right there tells me you will have to pay a significant amount more.
It is possible, since the S/C is an available dealer option, that it would be covered under the policy regardless.
The wheels would not be unless you keep your receipts. We (at Progressive) have paid for after market rims in my claims several times without anything additional on the policy - even without the receipts.

I have had GEICO for my motorcycles, and when my new bike was stolen, I sent them receipts and pix and they DID cover my aftermarket upgrades.
I'd imagine they'd do the same for your car.

Did your insurance know about the rims? cuz they should be covered under comp coverage since the rims are just replacements not add ons. but it depends on what coverages and information your insurance has
