anybody got and SR VS CAI Threads
If you are looking for sound then the SRI's are the way to go. They suffer low to mid range in gains but do well in the higher RPMs where as the CAI is quieter but has good low to mid range gains and moderate high rpm gains. End the end you will always gain about the same for any bolt on about 6-8whp.
If you're looking to turn heads the SRI is loud and on the right set ups sounds really good. I had one on my Dodge Stealth ES and I got one on order for my Si.
PS: If you live in an area that recieves lots of rain then you'll have to worry about hydro locking your engine depending on if you have a drop sometimes. It really depends on the area you live in. I know guys that have lived in some very wet places and never had a problem.

I love my SRI from Weapon R........
First I had the TRD exhaust on the car for about a month and it sounded great.........then after I installed the SRI my exhaust was louder and the SRI also has a lot of sound to it as well........exhaust is very nice sounding at WOT.........
I good thing about CAI is they do not suffer as badly from heat soak........during hot summer days I noticed loss of power........hot days are not good for making power anyway but it was noticable to me..........
Changing to Agency Power exhaust pretty soon or to Skunk2 ........mainly because I like how they look on the car fitment wise over how the TRD looks........not too worried about noise as if the cops hear me being loud they are going to ticket me for speeding......LOL...........normal driving they are not too bad.

The Ingen is probably the best........I say that because it can be made into both SRI and CAI...........did a side by side rev and Weapon is louder with both cars having TRD exhaust....so the intake makes noise......

is that intake at the fire wall on the Si.........hard to tell from that photo and I do not remember how the moter stuff sat from the one I test drove.........thought the intake was up front on the Si.......
The intake manifold is in the front but the SRI routes it to the back near the firewall. The one I have on order is the one pictures which connects to the stock cold air system of the Si so you get the short ram effect with some cold air coming in from the stock system.

I can't wait until my wife gets her S/C TC when we get back. I know we'll be trading off cars off and on. Hopefully I can talk her into letting me do some work on it and I've been trying to see if there are any companies out there that can do a reflash to raise the rev limiter.
edit: I'll add that both cars IMO really compliment each other well where one revs to the sky but lacks about 20 less tq on the low end the TC picks that up with quicker launches and a nice grunt from a 2.4L 4cyl. I think my wife will be going with the Glactic Grey RS 5.0 (when we get back from Iraq) I have the Galaxy Grey Si. I'm really excited about our new edition and I think it'll be hot to have the S/C TC and the Civic Si in the same drive way.
I will be turboing my car when I get back from Iraq also I cant let the Mrs. have 1 up on me.
I was going to get an Si, my friends still give me shyt about it haha. Could've had the 6th speed and LSD! Yeah... a week before hand my mom got into the biggest argument with the Honda service department for charging her $1000+ for maintenance and crap, I don't remember, she yelled at the manager (shes very good at yelling), fast forward, she got everything done for free, and sworn to never by another Honda again. Result here I am with a tC =]. It's not like I wanted to go fast anyways =/... haha jking
btw way sri is that on the tC? It's using part of the stock airbox right?

haha i was really into the Si, I dont really care what people say about it just cause its a Honda lol, but yea hitting vtec is fun, just watching the rpm go so high is fun lol i could just imagine if they put a vvtl-i engine in our tC, but then we wouldnt have the TQ that we have.
Yeah also depending on where you live and how hot it gets is something you should take in.
If you live out west or down south I would recommend a CAI.
If you live where it's milder summers and cold winters then def go with SRI.
When it gets down to -20 then a SRI will do just fine lol
