Cheapest way? New key.

Mine isn't even close to doing that though. But I have 2 of those types of keys anyways (and one valet key).

 

get a new one?...from the dealer? i know its not cheap, but i guess it would be the cheapest if ou can only get it from them.

how about buying just the shell? or just ripping off the ruber
part and glue-ing another ruber. idk or and custom ideas?

 

use the other key it came with... maybe i duno but the 08's have black keys which look so cool...

well dudes that actualy is my first key from 4/16/05 is when I got the Tc new.but yea my crib got rob'd and they took everything even my 2nd set of keys. WTF darn theif's
I know the key looks bad right? I have NEVER left it in the sun befor so idk why it looks so bad!!! any other fix ideas??????????

 

That's actually a possibility. I've seen used keys on eBay before that you might be able to grab and take it apart and use just the shell from it.

Worth a shot at least.

 

i dont know if im just misunderstanding you or not, but if someone stole your second set of keys, wouldn't you be better off getting a new set made knowing that someone out there has a set of keys to your car?

it'll probably cost alot, but i'm assuming that would be the smart thing to do

 

you press the panic button a lot too seems like.

 

or you just have a lot of crap in your pocket and you stick your keys in there...

man.. that looks pretty crazy worn out... i've never seen anything that bad before.

 

yeah, my key developed a pretty large hole as well. it didn't look quite that bad, but i just started using the second remote key they gave me. i realize you don't have one, but i just wanted to speak up and let you know you're not the only one who did that to your key. yes, they do develop a hole after a couple years of continuous use.

 

well dudes I wear my key on my belt loop on one of those cliff
hanger things it never goes in my pocket. and about whoever my 2nd set of keys im not worried because I have steath and they dont have the remote so im chill about it.

 

I have a '08 key, it doesn't have any rubber.

 

same goes with the 07. i think enough people complained that they decided to switch

 

get a new key from the dealership..............and a new chew toy from dollar tree

 

The '08 one is black though. hahaha!
