Default Anyone going to throw on the TRD SC on an automatic?

This is a debate for me since I'm getting my tC in a automatic since my integra is my manual. Now I dont know if the auto tranny will hold up with the supercharger on or not, it seems like it would be easier on a manual. Any of the automatic guy/girls out there who are honostly gonna put on the TRD SC?

LOL. Thats good. I dont see any problem with it. If you get the option to put the TRD onto a auto then Toyota finds it safe enough .

But I already have my manual car in my gsr teg, me and the ol' lady want something we can be lazy on while driving, but since its an auto I need to power of the manual. theres gotta be someone else on here wanting to do this.

That is exactly the reason why you should NOT get an automatic.

Funny story. A friend of mine was following me home one day, and he was texting on his phone. I stopped at a red light and I guess he didn't notice. All I hear was SCREEEECH PFFTBPFFTB (ABS kicking in) and he stopped probably an inch from my bumper. If he didn't have ABS we would have both been screwed.

I'm sorry but I think maybe an automatic is even too much for you.

Perhaps a nice 10-speed Schwinn?

Wow a lot of people are giving you ish for wanting an auto. I talked to my service department and they said only the manual tranny can get a supercharger but that's what they told me. I'm sure it is possible to do it but you might want to just stick with naturally aspirated. I have a manual but I want to try and get as much power as I can out of that 2.4 liter without any forced induction.

Another thing on the text messaging while driving....I think anyone who drives and does something that takes their attention away from driving like talking on the phone or especally text'ing is going to get a front row ticket to an accident.

If the auto has no problems with the S/C then I will get it.........but no matter what I'm getting an auto. I spend about 6hr in my car driving in an 8hr work day so from time to time I have to talk on the phone but I dont text (not my thing). when I do talk on the phone I use this with this phone

Even thoe I have that wireless ear peace I dont like to use the phone because I myself do know it can cause a distraction!! most offten I only use it when someone calls me when I call someone I'm parked outside of an office that I just came out of.

BTW: OT but that phone kicks butt!!! I paid 250-70(mail-in)=180

Automatic cars are good for one thing and one thing only... and that involves your girlfriend, wife or nearest female and a tilt steering wheel...

we were. the 2005 camry now has a 5 speed automatic for both the 4cylinder and the v6. i think the tC's tranny is the camry/solara's old 4speed auto with lower gearing.

honestly, I don't know why so many people have to diss on the auto transmission. not all of us are racing geeks who need to feel connected to every single nut and bolt in our car. just because you use both feet to drive doesn't make you special or extraordinarily talented. you're not special, you just have to do more to drive. not all of us want to do the extra work to operate our machine.

now, I don't want to start a flame war here, but those who drive manuals and think they're gifted need to realize, it's just personal preferance. one is not better than the other. they both have advantages and disadvantages. some people like manual, some like auto. some people like coke, some like pepsi. some people like mcdonalds, some like burger king. just because you like one doesn't mean you have to hate on the other.

but that's just my opinion...I could be wrong

If you look in the new Scion brochure (the one that comes with a DVD), you will see a modded TC with an AT and a supercharger. I don't think they would put that out for the public to see if it was not compatible.

Nah, I really don't need the supercharger for my daily commute. You can put the SC on the auto tC but keep in mind of the premium gas prices.
