Autoweek on Scion
low hanging fruit from this autoweek article: http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=101420
- tc buyer (not driver) median age is 25 (and I'm 26. I'm over the hill.)
- tc makes up 40% of all scion sales (the xB has a similar 40% share)
- Scion owners are insufferably whiny.

Scion got ripped on this year's J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, scoring fourth-worst. The vehicles weren't falling apart, but Generation Y is a fickle group on squeaks and rattles.
"They have the same expectations for a $15,000 Scion that older customers have for a $50,000 Lexus," says Scion Vice President Jim Farley, recounting a letter from a grumpy tC owner who complained of moon-roof wind noise at 115 mph.

i loved the part about the guy who writes to scion to complaing about WIND NOISE at 115 mph!! how funny..
but the rest of this info i can agree with the finance guys at the dealership are always slime.. it's a prerequisite to be a finance guy.. lol
and they didn't give a grade for the service.. from what I've experienced Toyota dealers have A LOT TO LEARN!! I don't think I'm being whiny (like the article) when I complained they over filled the oil 1 qt! and had it corrected.. so yeah toyota dealers need to improve a lot..
other than that I thought the article was something I could agree with in my own experiences with the tC.. I am glad Toyota actually LISTENED to this market.. I've been saying for a long time sporty 2-door affordable cars have got to come back.. I'm glad there is the tC..

I would score the Scion high on any survey for quality. But like the rest of you already know alot of people are this board are babies and _____ about every little things wrong with the car.
Look!, everybody that bought a tC or is thinking of buying one, should have known or know what they were getting themself into by buying a first generation vehicle, but I didn't care cause I knew if anything went wrong (squeacky roof, ratling hatch etc.) the warranty would cover it. All of those things are very minor defects and can be fixed, but people shouldn't let that ruin their expectations about their car. If you don't like it take it, take it back and trade it in for something else, maybe you can get something cute, like a corrolla
or you can keep a very unique car that has along waiting list at every dealer. Oh yeah! happy holidays to you all.
