Love that you are rocking the steelies. The first thing my wife did to her xb was pull the wheel covers off. The other day she was sending me links to caps on the mooneyes site. I love that woman.
Cisco, whats up! I know I'm probably dead to you
but I only have 1 more weekend of work left on that mural deal, then I have my life back!

Done for the night, wheels are cleared, time for bed and tires tomorrow, btw they are donor xd wheels. Yes yes i took off my OEM wheels for a smaller steel wheel, initially i just needed more rubber under my car because of where i work but they grew on me and now i prefer them

i thought about stripping them down to the galvanized coating and wire brushing the coating off and let what happens happen, then I slapped myself out of VW mode

the only thing that will really dent that mild steel after the coating is off is 3M heavy compound and that crap is $40 a pint and you need two
breakdown
1: 3m rubbing compoundx2
2: Paint stripper/aircraft stripper
3: Corded drill-dont waste your time with a cordless
4: mothers polishing ball
5: wire brush/plastic body filler spreaders
6: laquer thinner
7: clear coat
8: time,lots of time
You literally have to clear coat the wheels within seconds of the laquer thinner drying, the wheels will darken within a minute if theyre left bare. i coated mine with wd40 every night when i was done for the evening or anytime i needed to stop for more than a few minutes
