"BBS announces insolvency


Update of the autosuppliers BBS automotive technology AG in scold oh (circle Rottweil), one of the prominent manufacturers of light alloy wheels, placed insolvency request. As reason for the inability to pay the enterprise gave on Tuesday (6,2.) the way breaking of a bank on.

so sad I love their wheels, just couldn't afford them lol maybe they will have liquidation on their wheels and we can get them for a "steal"

 

this happened in Feburary 2007. in June/July 2007 a Belgium company bought BBS. i heard the US and Japan divisions of BBS are separate entities that are not as affected by the bankruptcy and sale of BBS Germany.

First SSR goes bankrupt (later bought by Tanabe), then BBS. With the influx of imitation wheels from China (and other aftermarket parts), alot of higher end wheel companies are going to feel the financial burn. Eventually companies like Rays, HKS, Greddy will have to consider moving their manufacturing to China to stay competitive (some already have).

Ouch. I love BBS rims too, but they are pricey. So this isn't going to affect operation in other countries? Seems kinda strange since I though BBS in other countries are "area" division. But then again there are some companies that are kinda separate.
