Beep when locking

Beep when locking

Is there anyway to make the car beep when locking the door, or do you need a aftermarket system for that?

There was another post about this awhile ago, I am pretty sure there is not a way to make it beep when you lock it.

this is one thing that REALLY irks me about this car. i really wish it would beep...all my past cars did. blah

I LOVE that it makes no noise. I hate alarm systems and keyless entry that makes noises. Our 4Runner isnt too bad since it is just a beep that is not too loud, but I dont need my car making noises every time I lock it.

Um, am I missing something? My car beeps once when locking, and twice unlocking. I've never installed an alarm system. There is a blue button down by the steering wheel to shut it off but still...

I asked a toyota mechanic and he said that the 08's were the first year when they stopped putting noises for the lock and unlock!

I have an 05' and it doesn't beep, the mechanic obviously doesn't know what he's talking about....

I shall chime in.

NO years ever beeped.
There is a mod to get it to beep.
If you have SCION security, it doesn't beep. (This is with the red light)
If you have the KARR security, it does beep. (Blue light, as stated above)

The dealer usually doesn't tell you which one they gave you.
