crap, i'm always worried about people like that just hating on me.

i've never had a car that created enough envy within another person to vandalize my vehicle (a corolla and a mkIII jetta). i mean, geez.. it's only like 17-19K. go bust some mailboxes or something.

Check with your insurance agent before paying this on your own. Most policies cover vandalism under comprehensive, not collision. As such, it usually won't affect your premium like an accident will.

Good luck And try to get a camera out there. Even if its a $20 webcam on your PC setup next to the window. It'd be worth it to catch the punks, especially since it sounds like it may be a recurring issue, not just a random act...

dude, I'd move if i were you.

Speaking of haters, I almost got run off the road by a civic today. That, combined with all the other civics that try to race me and all the dirty looks i get from element drivers is really turning me into a honda hater. though i'm sure you all understand.

good idea, i thought about doing this before, but my web cam sucks. i wonder if i can pay someone to look after my car... sort of like a neighborhood watch but instead of watching the homes... watch out for your cars. lol

I cant put it in mine because my dad 95 impala has seen day light like in 3 years.I already went to that site (touch up paint site) they dont even have my color on there .. LOL . i have a Azure Pearl color. And about the insurance claim. I'm not gonna get them involoved because i know they will try to do something to raise my premium. Its bad enough i pay $236 a month on insurance

My old car got vandalized (keyed and such) so I narrowed it down to 2 people who could've done it and shot out all their windows with a BB gun. I'm not 100 percent sure it was them but it made me feel better

hahaha!! So you definitely got your revenge on the guy who did it but also shot out some innocent person's windows with a bb gun... could that be excused as "collateral damage"??

No wonder they keyed your car.

WTF if your dads car is not being used it needs to be put in storage, otherwise put IT on the street and let IT get all the damage. Also I think you might get a discount on insurance if you store it in a garage. Remember... If you can't see your car... no one else should be able too either. KEEP IT IN A GARAGE if not the carnage will surely continue. If you can't use the garage it might be a good idea to move to a place of your own that has a garage. :?

Sorry to hear about your car. but you don't really have to scare everyone here but calling your incident a 'Scion-hating' incident. You said they got everyone on the street. None the less, I understand your pain. I am still stressing over my tC. It's my first new car and I just want to make it through the first 6 months without incident.

Here are some small things I do to help prevent theft/vandalism: a) have all my driveway lights on so no one can sneak around my drive without being seen; b) leave the front bedroom light on and blinds semi open so anyone outside won't know if people are up or not. These aren't much but they are better than nothing. I know if I wanted to break into a car I wouldn't choose the driveway that's well lit. As far as vandalsim, those events are usually quick so they may not even care about light.

My garage is a mess right now, but it will be parked in there as soon as things are cleaned up.

1 grand for keying everywhere isn't that bad. i have these minor paint scratches on my left rear bumper and the dealership quote me $450. my car is only barely 2 months old and it has all these damn battle wounds already. makes me feel a little sad.

But you don't know, so it wouldn't hurt for him to check. My policy is that way, comp covers windshield and any vandalism - no effect on my rates because I'm not at fault..
