Trying to see if you can still use the radio door, I know with the 7120 the radio door is useless.
It's the Kenwood eXcelon DDX-8019 with the Kenwood KNA-G510 GPS module... The door closes perfectly fine, there's a little bracket mod you have to do and it'll work with most radios.

What is this bracket mod and where can I find how to do it?

There's a few write-ups here on ScionLife if you search for them, it's a really simple mod... All you have to do it drill out the three "dimples" on each side of the bracket to move the headunit back a little bit to allow the door to fully close/open... The places you have to drill are already "marked" on the factory bracket, you just have to drill it out and that's it. There is no gaps around the radio or anything, it's just slightly pushed back.

I didn't find a thread that said how to hack the sh*t out of your tC factory HU brackets; the search must have left that one out

Thanks for the pointer, it worked great.

The search feature is not optimal so a little elaboration is all I asked for, thanks though.

Here's one:
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ose+radio+door

Hear's a motorized thread if you're interested:
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ose+radio+door

Hear's another:
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ose+radio+door

And another (a few posts down someone mentions it):
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ose+radio+door

I wasn't trying to be a wise guy when I said to search for it... All I was saying is that I'm too lazy to explain it, and a few people have already said how to do it... No need for sarcasm ok?

I didn't ask you for threads.

You stated that there were many threads, I said I did not see a hack your HU brackets thread. You stated search and as I said the search is not optimal and only 2 or 3 posts in only 2 of those threads you posted were related to what I asked.

I said thanks for the explanation as I had already done what you explained.

there are shops a little further of a drive, but i work two jobs so its tough getting the time to drive out there and get it taking care of, but its not making me to upset since this weekend is the first weekend of decent weather, i havnt missed much. hopefully they get it this week and i can go have some fun with it next weekend, my new wheels will be in also so that will make it even better, got some rpf1's. cant wait.

Both of you suck!!

I haven't finished my install yet but my bottle is filled.

I still haven't receive my two new nitrous and fuel hoses that go from the solenoid to the air intake.

I had to get two more since the 22" ones the kit came with were about a quarter inch too short.

If it weren't for the stealth theme i'm going for I would be in there right now.

Thanks,

I think some of my plans for my tC are going to have to be put on hold for a little while, I was going to get new wheels/tires and a drop... Except I finally went and took the written test for my Motorcycle Permit today and got it, so my main focus (and money) right now is getting a Yamaha YZFR6 or a Suzuki GSXR 600... That time of the year is right around the corner and I'm going to try to get the bike ASAP ...

^ OK... A little update... All tC mods are officially on hold for now... I finally got a BIKE! It's a Honda CBR600 F4i. It's getting delivered on Tuesday hopefully, I'll take pics on Wednesday if the weather is nice. Can't wait!
