Hey all-

So, several of you may have read my previous horror story post about Family Scion in San Juan Capistrano - thats all still true. But, on Friday at about 9am, I got a call from Power Toyota in Irvine and the salesman informed me that a STOCK Flint Mica 2006 tC had just rolled off the truck! I had already had a $500 order deposit down at Rancho Santa Margarita Scion, but this car was going to get sold if I didn't ****** it up. So I took a long lunch and long story short, I'm the proud owner of a new Scion.

The only options I got with it was Scion Security and Lojack.

Future modifications (for the time being) will include:
-Pimp tint.
-iPod Capability.
-Stubby S2000 Antenna.
-Metal Door Sill Plates.


She drives like a dream. I was really rushing at the dealer to get through with everything so I could get back to work, and the only thing I regret is not being able to spend some more time with my 99 Ford Escort (aka Gracie). I feel like we were seperated all too quickly. Anywayz, here's some pics of my new car. Bling!

i dont think you can later add ipod capability can you ???

since its wired into the center console ? ... unless all 06 tc's come with the plug and its just a matter of having the actual IPOD radio

(not sure since my tC came with the ipod radio)

i put down a deposit for my tC in June, I should be getting it this week.
I didn't even know the 2006 was out. I hope i am getting a 2006 and not a 2005

Thats a good question. I think it is possible to get it installed after the fact. My head unit is different than the 2005 one, but I'm not sure if there's a iPod 2006 head unit and just a regular 2006 one. I think its juts a matter of taking the car in and having them rip up the center armrest and adding the dock connector.

Right now i have it set up through the aux jack and it makes this loud buzzing noise when the power cable is plugged into the cigarette lighter. Its weird.

 

if you think the auto drives like a dream you should try the 5spd

 

You're right. The 5 speed is awesome. Easist gear shifting of any manual i've ever driven. Unfortunately, a good portion of my everyday is sitting in traffic and I didn't want to do that to a 5-speed engine.

 

the ipod deck and the reg deck are different ....

from what other people have said .. the locations of buttons and such on the deck are different ...

as for paying them to wire in the ipod stuff ... GOOD LUCK .. im sure that would cost an arm and a leg and ud need a new center console with the cutout for the ipod inside

but with the right amount of $ it could be done

 

or you could just get the iPod adapter kit from crutchfield.com for $90 and wire it yourself. All you have to do is tap into the power and ground wires on the HU.
