Blind SPots????
Well my FM tC still hasnt come in it should be 2 more weeks...
i got bored so i read some reviews on the tC and ive seen some posts about the car having some massive blind spots. Is this true? How bad is it. (im a new driver)
I have no problem with teh rear blind spots. however, i have noticed that the massive front A-pillar tends to get in the way. one time, it hid an entire car. good thing i obey the laws and still yielded when i approached the traffic circle. or else.. *bam. oh well, you get used to it. if im driving around an area that has kids playing, i tend to make it a habit to look "around" the a-pillar, just to make sure no kid is there. same thing with glancing over your shoulder before you merge into lanes.
since your a new driver, just remember everything you learned, and actually use some of that knowledge. my friend never glanced over his shoulder in his old 240sx, but he admits that all this time, he was just lucky that no one was ever in his blind spot (2 years). now in his spec-v, he always glances. i guess i changed him, lol.
EDIT: opps, i forgot to mention that I am 6'1", so seat and head distance from the steering wheel is different.

comming from a 99 civic coupe and a 95 civic hatch (both of which are smaller than the tC), i've noticed a little blindspot, but nothing that really bothers me. is this your first car? if so, you made a good choice. auto or manual?
I drove a late model celica and that car has the worst blind spots. The tC is actually not too bad. I have driven trucks the majority of my life and they have little or no blind spots. The tC isn't bad at all. You should test drive it though. Then you will want it even more.
here is how you eliminate the blindspots. in a parking lot, drive forward till you can't see the parked cars next to you on either side (from driver/passenger windows) by turning your head. stop. aim your sideview mirrors so you can see the front of their car. with the mirrors set like this, you will see them in your rearview as they come up on you from behind then before they leave the rearview, they will be in your sideviews (they will be in both). when they are about to leave the sideviews you will see them in the front windows. so you will always see them in at least two mirrors/windows.
I just got mine Saturday and love it, but I did notice the rear blind spots. The same day I bought the car I nearly clipped the front of one guy's car. It's not so bad as long as you adjust the mirrors asap. This TC was my first coupe so I wasn't used to coupes so that made me totally oblivious to blind spot concerns. I recommend doing what Yesti said in his previous post and adjust the mirrors as posted. Oh and btw, what's the "A-pillar"? I'm a lil slow....

When I test drove the tC I thought there were a lot of blind spots.... but now that I own one, it's not that bad at all.

Well i went from a 2001 camry to the tC, and i know you cant compare the body styles, but let me tell you, i cant see crap. Thanks for the tip on what to do with your mirrors. Im a zigzagger in traffic, but with my tC i havent been able to test the waters cause i feel like i have blindspots everywhere..
