Default Boosted tc down :(

And I just got this damn thing running right on 22 psi on E85 Hoped to put it on the dyno this weekend and shoot for 450-500 All i know is I hope it can be resurrected Today it goes to my friends body shop so the insurance company can look at it. I was turning into a parking lot and got rear ended by a dumbass Mustang doing over 50 in a 40. Pics will be posted here in a sec. Luckily the idiot was a minor and his parents have good insurance, so theyll be paying for this one dearly.

That's less damage than I expected... how bad was the force of the impact inside the car? Are you okay..?

Yea it doesnt look that bad, and in fact its all cosmetic, car still drives fine, however the hatch wont close properly, its actually bent sideways, the back of my driver seat is broke, if I pull up the floor in the back hatch area the floor pan is actually crushed in, and the whole rear end of the car is actually twisted towards the pass side as this was the bias of the impact. What saved me was the fact that i wasn't on the brakes when he hit me. I have some neck and wrist pains but those are being tended to by a couple good doctors, and a good attorney ;)

oh snap... that seriously sucks. But at least no one was seriously hurt or killed, especially if the guy was traveling near 50 mph. Fixing body panels on a car is much easier and cheaper then trying to fix body parts on the person.

From the couple pics you have up, The damage might be able to be fixed correctly without any lasting gremlin issues down the road. If part of the frame is visibly bent... if you have a good repair shop with a good frame expert, maybe it can be saved. Even if you cant SEE damage after the repair, if a frame gets damaged the wrong way, you may notice over time of certain parts either wearing out before their time and/or not wearing correctly. But like I said, from your initial pics.. I'd say you have a good chance of getting it repaired correctly.
Worse case, they total it.... and then you just pull your setup out of it before it's taken. and transplant it into a new tC.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Yeah thats def what Im hoping for, and if anyone can rebuild it right, its in the right hands. I just have too much blood sweat and tears in this car to see it go for good

I hear ya on that.

I've been building full classic restorations, and custom hotrod show cars literally from the ground up for clients for many moons. And working with different types of frames... just like everything else, there are pluses and minuses. Unibody construction has a lot of advantages over older types. Mainly geared towards being not just lighter (weight wise) but intentionally designed to colapse a specific way in a collision by absorbing a large percentage of the force of the impact, there by reducing the risk of serious injury and/or death to those inside the car(s). But in doing so, more often then not, it will cause car to get totaled (damage wise) in order to save lives... so it's a good trade-off if you look at it that way.
That being said... the amount of damage to your car is just another testiment to our tC's for safety. you (your car) was basically the brick wall the mustang hit at 50mph. And mustangs aren't super light cars to begin with.

To be honest I'm happy to hear it was a very minor crash; as I was reading I thought you blew your engine or something serious.
Your favorite body shop will buff that right out :D

I feel your pain, I've been rear ended and its one of those things where you have 100% justification to be f'in ____ed at the other person because its 100% their fault.

You're shooting for 450-500 at 22psi! What the hell do you have done to that block!?!

Bottom end is JE 9:1 Pistons, K1 Rods, ARP Head studs, Cometik HG, and ACL Race bearings. The bottom end should be able to take some abuse, still havent gotten to push the limits yet Using E85, my fuel system was coming up short, but now with return system, 1000cc inj, and dual walbro pumps, im finally in good shape to go as far as I want. Im still hoping I get it back If not, I guess Ill end up with a massive partout

They're gonna' have to replace that rear quarter which might cost quite a bit. Glad you're okay though and luckily it was a front end hit.

do you have full coverage?

If so you should tell them to do a estimate on the damage and cut you the check. Take the money, depending on how much your deductible is you will be between 250 to 500 of what your qoute on the damage is.

I was in a situation like this and they gave me 1200 for a dented hood and damaged front bumper. I did all work my self, orderd a oem c/f hood for $450 , bumper didnt even need to be replaced and with the rest of the money was spent on intake, header, custom exhaust ahhaha. the reason I got so much money tho was because that main brace in the front of the car was dented and they said it had to be replaced. that alone was liike 700! but the dent was so small so I was like wutever....

Keep in mind that if you cash the check yourself and repair it yourself, I believe you need to have it re-inspected by the insurance company to make sure it's safe, or (in your case) that 1200 will be deducted from the value of your car if it gets totalled or whatever. At least that's how I believe it was explained to me when some a-hole backed into my car.

Unfortunately they wouldnt even look at it until it was torn down at a body shop, due to the extent of the damage. In most cases Id try to get the money myself, than do my own repairs, however in this case, I dont have the time, or the experience to do this kind of work. Im also not the worlds best painter lol. it may not be too visible from the pics, but the entire pass side of the car is pushed forward up to the door, its gunna be quite a bit of work to correct that I have a feeling.

Worse case scenario i would pull the motor and turbo setup and stick it in another tC.
