Both Sun Visors Break On Same Exact Day? Is This Real Life?
So the astronomical odds of having both sun visors break on the same exact day are almost in the range of getting struck by lightning after already getting struck by lightning. It's been 100F around here lately with heat index 110F+. I always like to keep my sun visors on both the driver's and passenger's side open and flat against the upper windshield. I came in the car and both were dangling straight down. I tried moving them back in position, but it seems like the internal mechanism has reached failure (seems like a buckle of some type controls the swivel or swing on the horizontal hinge within the sun visor).
I looked up on here and apparently both my sun visors can't be repaired? Man this blows. 2005 TCs aren't built as good as I thought they were. Anyone have advice?
1) Remove both sun visors completely?
2) Replace sun visors by spending $100+ on eBay?
3) Try to fix sun visors somehow?
4) Buy a new car lol?

They are both broken. The internal mechanism that holds the visor in any position no longer works. Both visors hand almost directly down. Driving at night sucks.
Yeah didn't know. Not sure why they chose to use a plastic mechanism. I'm thinking of trying the Velcro method where you wrap Velcro around the cylinder that the visor turns around creating more friction and hopefully holding the visor in place. I may just end up getting new ones on eBay or saying F it and leaving it the way it is. I would remove both, but the mirror on the visor may come in handy and I'd rather have a visor to block the sun than not have one at all. At night, I can just swivel the visor towards the driver side window.

Ah i see
Easy fix would be a bent peice of metal.
But if it was me id probably use a small screw and kinda dril it in so it pushes on the metal bar an adds more tension.
Mighr not have explain that right but i see it in my head.

Another Suggestion, but it's not for everyone...
Consider Adding a 5% Limo Tint Visor Strip.
I had one on both my xBGen1 and RS9:

It's always over a 100 degrees here in the Summertime and has worked quite well for me.
Also adds a nice little mean aggressive look to your ride.

Yes, it's Legal in VA.
Virginia 2015/2016 Tint Laws
Estimates are Available at your local tint shop.
It should be a lot less than a pair of new visors.

In a last attempt at the impossible, I gripped the internal mechanism on the driver's side at a stop light and twisted upward trying to close the sun visor against the roof of the car. With a slight turn the visor snapped up into the roof. Won't be touching it anymore. Pretty sure the swivel or whatever is inside is lose or doesn't work. I did the same with the passenger side.
Will be getting a quote to tip the top 3-4" of the windshield soon. I think it would look a lot nicer and block the sun that comes in between the two sun visors when they are down.
