Default Brake Noise(not ABS)

I am a new tc owner, and so far just love the little bugger! I do have some of the rattles I've been reading about(hatch) on the forums. But, now as the snow is flying in PA, I have a new noise that I was wondering if anyone knows about before I call the Dealer. When I am pulling away from being stopped, the brakes make a clunk sound, almost like they were stuck. I was wondering if it has to do with all the slop and salt on the roads, combined with below freezing temperatures. Thanks for any help!

My car makes a noise like this as well. More than likely, he brake pads need the sticky stuff betwen the pad and the brake piston. The pad shifts in the holder and makes a noise if there is no adhesive there, the adhesive makes it so the pad doesn't shift. You can ask the dealership to do it, or it would only take about 10 minutes a side if you did it yourself. Any car parts store would have the brake pad adhesive.

hey i've had this problem and i thought it was just me. these morning have been pretty cold in Philly and in my neighborhood there is a lot of ice still on the floor, so this pas week when ive been leaving for school whenever i would apply my brake while driving on top of ice it makes a horrible noise, it sound like springs coming loose it sounds real bad. But when i brake in regular asphalt nothing happens. I sure would like to know wut that is.

You are hearing your ABS kicking in when you are on the ice..as far as the sounds others are talking about Im not sure but I will see if any of our guys have heard of something like this. It sounds to me like a sticking piston more than anything, but a new car shouldnt have that problem.

first time I heard it i was pulling out from a light. i pulled over immediately. it sounded like I ran over a manhole cover wrong and it flipped up and ripped something out from under the car. no manhole cover and lots of checking later, it was the brakes. i added ss lines and changed my pads to satisfieds. haven't heard anything since.
