Breaks Squeeling at 6,700 miles??
So the other day my breaks started making the "Change your break" squeel. Is this normal? i know there are wear and tear items, but less than 7000 miles??? would this fall under warrenty if it isnt. i drive quick but not toasted breaks quick...
you know what? this is going to sound so stupid, i know it, and i'm sure i'll get flamed for it, but whatever.
the SAME thing happened to me. almost around the exact same time. i came back from a road trip and was a little over the 5k limit when i got my oil changed. my tires were making the same squealing when i went in...and they rotated my tires and everything was fine. maybe they did something else that i don't know about, but that's all it said on the paper.
i don't know. maybe the lack of air conditioning in a 95 degree house is making me a little crazy, but...yeah.
the only reason i make this suggestion is because i know a lot of people usually change their own oil and so they may not have had the opportunity to do this.
in any case, it could be a number of things, i'd get it looked at if you're not sure :\

Do you park outside? The moisture can cause rust spots or a squeeling sound on your brakes for a little while. Otherwise you should be able to check if your pads are low from behind your wheels.
My brakes squeal all the time. I've already checked the pads, and they've still got a healthy amount of pad to go through (I'm at 15k miles). I've been told to take the calipers off, spray cleaner on everything including the rotors and pads, and then put anti-squeal brake lube on the pads... I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
By the way, search tool is your friend.

i do park outside, but it lasts a while, and i would have searched but i was at work and really effin tired and i just wanted to ask real quick. i promise ill search next time. thanks for the help, ill look into rotating the rotors and cleaning the breaks.

i have had the same issue for some time now! i thought it was worn pads and when i changed them i saw that the old pads were still chunky and had some life to them left and when i put the new ones on i still had the squeel, i really dont know what it might be?!
buttt i know a trick if ur not scared what you need 2 do is take your pad's off and rub them 1 at a time against a flat concreat surface untill u see the pad is flat ull see what i mean when your doing it then put them back on and boom no more squeeling
