Caliper paint
Mods don't be mad, I searched and found no older thread.
Anyways, back on track. What color should I paint my calipers? I have a blue tC.
I just want it to look nicer, stock looks nasty. I'm only thinking red, silver or black.
I'm concern because a buddy of mine painted the calipers on his Celica and the paint went from red to rust red. Yes, the paint changed over time.
What are your experiences? I could always just leave the current color alone.

Paint 'em whatever color you fancy. I went with black on mine. Just make sure to clean the calipers real well. Some people go as far as to sand/grind the texture off but I didn't feel that was neccessary.

By the way, I've seen a couple of Scions with "ScionLife" stickers. How do I get one?
does anyone know approximately how long our stock brakes are suppose to last?
i've owned my tC for more than 2 years now.
i also want to paint my calipers, but not if i'm going to have to replace them anytime soon

painting your calipers when you replace the brake pads is the perfect time to do it.
There's no way to really tell how long your pads will last. I've had pads last 4 years (mostly freeway driving and being gentle on the pedal braking plenty of time).
If you're the type of driver who brake the last minute every single time, then your brakes should last several months.
I drive conservatively, however I fully use my brakes and rarely engine brake since pads are only like $40.

The G2 paint is the way to go. I absolutely love the way that it looks.
And the fact that it has a lifetime warranty helped. They stand by that ( speaking from experience ).
I put it on the first time couple of years ago and ended up putting to many coats on, which resulted in the bottom coats never drying. So unfortunately it chipped. I sent pics to G2 and they sent me a new kit...no questions asked.
Their customer service is exceptional and I used the suggestion that I was given for the most recent application. ONE coat is sufficent.
Good luck, you'll be happy with it.
