Read the fine print of both of those "guarantees."

whats your ebay name? i would be interested in purchasing a clifford 3.5, but my dad thinks ebay is the devil. I live in the Houston area so it wouldnt be a problem for me to go on a mini road trip with my new scion to pick one up.

Before you go to the dealer you might want to download the installation manual, it describes the key tap and other testing procedures. That way if there's any other defective feature on the alarm you can bring it all up at one time.
The link is HERE

at least $70... takes about an hour to do.
Anyway, you might not even need to take out the glove to do it although it makes it easier. Just remove out the panel below it and torque your spine to reach the control box.

i don't sell them. if you do a search on ebay for viper remote start, cliffored remote start, viper 791xv, clifford 3.5, you should get plenty of listings for that price. u need to find some one with an ebay account other than your dad and have them order it for you. ebay = the best shop on earth(even better than wally world, and thats hard to beat!) i am an ebay and walmart buying *****.

HAHAAAA!!!! i GOT IT!!!! I don't know what was goin on with it before, but i toyed around with it a little more and it just clicked... right now i got it on max sensitivity and i haven't had any false alarms yet. I'm sure i will eventually and then i'll have to change it, but it seriously only takes like 2 minutes!

ha, I'm just happy mine has the little blinking light on the dashboard even though I didn't get the alarm (its for the engine immobolizer). Got the hard sell on the toyota alarm and etching (for $700!!) till I reminded the finance guy that he lived literally around the corner from us (which he told us earlier in the process). Its a pretty good/quiet neighborhood, so keeping my fingers crossed instead. But $700??? Also gave us an even HARDER sell on the $1300 extended warranty. Had the numbers all ready for how much Toyota pays out for work done on vehicles under the extended warranty ($80m?) but for some reason he didn't know exactly how much Toyota took in from selling the extended warranties...

Adjust it, then tap your windows, I bet you wont be saying it's crap then.
If it goes off when you tap it then its set wrong. There's nothing less effective than an overly sensitive car alarm..
