Default car sponsorships.com??? anyone done this??

hey there....i was just wondering if anyone had done anything with the website www.carsponsorships.com...i saw an add for them in Import Tuner or something and checked it out and filled the application out and they responded a few days later telling me that i was approved for a sponsorship...it almost seemed too easy, so i was wondering if anyone else has gone this route and if it turned out to be just a load of BS or if it is the real deal....thanks for your time!!

Not sure if that is the same site I'm thinking of but I've heard it is a scam.

Just a quick google search finds this:

Looks like most people get a vinyl sponsorship if they ever hear anything back at all. Wooohoo... let me pay someone $80 for stickers. No thanks, I'll cut my own.

It's a scam, plain and simple. They're playing off of the word "sponsor", since everyone knows that all the cool car people have sponsors.

Basically what it amounts to is a "Sam's Club" type deal. You pay X amount of dollars, you get a list of places to buy stuff for less than MSRP. The big problem is that there are already an abundance of places, such as Sparks, McGeorge, etc. that sell for less than MSRP anyway. Save your money, do a Google search or hit eBay if you're looking for deals.

Their site says that they ONLY charge you the $89 if you get a Full Sponsor package that they say is worth $500 or more...

But as many have noted, you might just get a big decal for the car (stupid and not worth $500). But if you just sign up, they don't charge you automatically. At least... that's what it says. I have never tried and don't plan on it.

I just got an email from them stating this....

"Hi David,

We are proud to inform you that Blaupunkt USA has selected you and your vehicle for an audio sponsorship! Blaupunkt USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch Corporation, is an international company offering the highest class of In-Car Entertainment components. In addition, Decalkits.com has picked you up for a full graphics sponsorship. You will find all the information you need to start receiving your products inside the contract below.
In addition to Blaupunkt and Decalkits, we have negotiated yet another sponsorship on your behalf and will email you within 2-3 days with the sponsorship information."

Can someone tell me if i should go through with this. Or is this a scam they are pulling on me?

the flippin' concept of "sponsor" is you don't pay anything, if you guys really need to ask whether you should pay you're missing the point. these companies should be paying you or at least hooking you up with their products so that when people see them on your car they go out and buy them. there's no way on earth you should being paying someone to be sponsored that defeats what a sponsorship is!!!

dude i got that and i get what they call "quasi" sponsorships and all that means is that you get a discount from their products since i've had it i've had one full sponsorship from decalkits.com and all their decals are ____ty but i've heard some other people actually getting good sponsors only if you already have a hooked up car and its not just stock.

Well did you "accept" their offer?

The "decalkits" one sounds like just crap. But I would like to hear some more details on the Blaupunkt one - they say "Audio Sponsorship" - so my assumption would be they are actually going to give you some audio product. Whereas the other says "graphics sponsorship" ... which is lame.

i havent signed the contract yet.

The Blaupunkt audio sponsorship allows me to purchase their products at sponsorship price.

who knows what i will do. they already took my money...might as well take the sponsorship and try to get something out of it.

what do you think i should do?
