I have the 2005 scion tc stick shift.

I drove the car yesterday and parked it in my garage. Today in the morning i tried to auto start the car and it didnt start when i got to the garage so i thought it didnt recieve the signal.

I tried to manually start the car with the key and all it does is DAA DAA DAA DAA DAA DAA. My battery is fine, i can listen to the radio and turn on headslights.

This has never happened to me before, and i have no clue what is going on. Trying to look for some help.

BTW i go to school in buffalo and its been snowing for the last 3 days? 10-15 degrees?

I'd love to help but it could be at least 3 or 4 different things.

See if you're getting a spark, or fuel and we'll kick off the diagnoses


Starter could be not engaging too, but from the sounds of it the motor is turning so the starter is engaging

kind of depends on what da da da da is, lol

 

The battery could still be bad. Might have enough juice in it to run your accessories but not crank the engine. That started needs A LOT of power to turn over. Still might want to charge it or get a new one.

 

Very true.. I guess daa daa sounds kind of like the motor trying to start but the starter not turning fast enough

That's what I'm going with. I had that problem in my old car. Everything else worked but when I tried to turn it over...Nada. Just the hyper fast tick tick tick of the starter spining. Luckily there was a shop like 3 buildings down. Got lucky on that one.

 

ehh, well the weather at buffalo today was crap, its better to keep your tc at home

 

try and use jumper cable's from one car to ur's and iff it doesint start then can take the batter off the list

It sounds like a very rapid noise like a auto machine bb gun? I dont know if that makes sense.

If it's the starter are there other symptoms i can check? If it is i would have to get my car towed to be fixed?

I swear firestone is ____ing with my car, swapping my rims and starter! I never had problems with the car until i went to firestone for an inspection sticker.

Conned me for a new tire, windshield wiper and brake pads.
Then sold me 4 new tires without telling me my rim was bent?
Brought it back cause the tire was flat told me they fixed it and ask me to get warranty on the tires.
Flat again said my rim is bent now, telling me to buy new rims.
Now they wont answer me telling me, they will call me back.

Yea, thats the battery being dead. Don't worry about the fuel or spark, haha

 

not exactly sure but i believe the automatic starter taps into the ignition wire or fuse so maybe a wire from the starter is lose and causing the engine to make the sound like it wants to start but just won't because the ignition wire is cut. my car did that when my ignition fuse was tampered with and cut. just a possibility.

 

get a sound clip if you can and post it on here/youtube

 

get it jump started, or have a battery charger, set it on boost for 2 minutes tops and try to start the car

if that works its the battery

could be an autostart problem... or maybe the engine immobilizer? something went wrong and your transponder failed to send the code and ur car was immobilized? iono just a thought

 

solenoids stuck on starter or not enough amp to crank the starter. the dadadada shyt your describing sounds like the battery not giving off enough amps.

Batteries are rated with CCA (Cold Cranking Amps). This is because they are least efficient when it's cold. Check the water level in your battery (if you can), then run a charger on it.
