I have an automatic 2007 tc. i was gone on a cruise for 8 days. when i returned, the car wouldnt start. we jumped it and it was fine. went a day w/out driving it, then it would only click rather than start the next day. so we replaced the battery. now 3 days later, wont start again, battery is good w/ a 12v. replaced w/ a brand new starter. no more clicking noises, just silence when turning the key. i really need help on this asap please!!

 

Prolly an incorrect starter install plus try your spare key. Sometimes the key immobilized will mess up

 

i will check my spare key. but we just took off the new starter thinking it was defective. we tested both the old and the new and they were both good! so putting the old one back on, changing the grounding cable (it was corroded when i returned from my trip). once that it all put back together i will try both keys! thank you for the tip!

 

it was actually the ground cable!!! when we 1st replaced it, the cable we got from autozone was too short so we had to make a new ground spot. guessing it needed to back to the original spot we bought the correct one from O'Reilly's and replaced it again....and it started!!! :D

 

Check the ground cable.
