So, here's the important question:

Is the dealer fixing it for free under warranty or is it coming out of your pocket?

I don't even want to imagine my leather seats split from the airbags.

I dont know what is up with those pictures. I tried.

On the other hand, we are taking it to the dealership tomorrow morning. I am pretty sure that they will fix it no problem. They had better anyway...

OHH!!...Ok, that's what side airbags are...

I was thinking they came out of the door, right below the window...

Hmmm...learn something new everyday...

I guess there are some in the door and some in the seats. Don't quote me on that.

Dam. Well the doors are really heavy. Add on some wind and the force applied by the drivers arm shutting the door......... Thats still definitely not normal though.

None in the doors. In the A pillars and the side of the seat. Hey wyld, any pics of your leather? What was the cost? Glad to see you are still a member.

Just got back from the dealership.

They are taking my car...probably for the rest of this week. They gave me a rental and said it wouldn't cost me a thing.

Did the car still have very low miles on it? I wonder if the sensor's hadn't "learned" enough info to know when not to deploy. Still odd. Still glad no one got hurt, and that sounds great that the dealer is fixing it on their dime, not yours.

Good luck.

No more dealer installed leather on cars with side airbags. Wyldkard has some before Toyota (along with most other manufacturers) put a halt to dealers doing that.

Default those doors are really heavy...

yaahhh...dont u guys agree, these doors are heavy !!!! but thy are safe, right ??? I'd rather have the side air bags go off, then nt go off @ all..it seems thy must be senseitive...but atleast we knw thy work....I did look at some crash ratings whn I first bought my TC, and I knw the car is ranked really well...we have about the same rating as a Honda Civic 2 door.....so far I do feel really safe in this car !!

Sweet. I shall call it RS2.0 and it's even more rare than RS1.0.

I am ____ed!!!
Not only was I unable to have my car for prom, but it will be another week and a hlaf until I get it back!
On monday, it will be 2 weeks since I took in my car. I called my dealership on Tuesday, May 17, and they told me they were waiting on 6 parts that would be coming from LA and that they should be there that day or the next day, the 18. Well, here it is the 20th and I called to check on it and they said they still need 2 parts that wont be in until NEXT THURSDAY!!! Friggin' crazy. I am ____ed...
