Default cel affect performance?

i've had my megan s pipe on for about 1k miles and i never put the o2 sensor in it which cause the cel, my question is if the cel is on, does it like downtune the engine so it doesnt run to its full potential? i think i remember reading this somewhere but cant remember.

the s-pipe caused a CEL? Do you have a header installed too? The s-pipe alone doesn't cause a CEL.... I had mine on before I installed my header with no CEL

i have the stock header, megan s pipe and megan cat back. When i installed the s pipe, i just kept the plug in the megan one for where the sensor would go and never put the sensor in, right when i turned the car on, cel and has been ever since

well if you didn't put the sensor in, that's why. You need to plug in the 02 sensor from your stock s-pipe into the megan one. You just left the hole open?

its not open, the s pipe came with a plug that was screwed in the hole and i just kept that in cause i really didnt feel like going through the hassle of gettin the sensor off lol. but the plug is on really really tight, not like i just threw somethin on there or anything

It won't go into limp mode until the CEL starts flashing.

Solid = get it checked.
Flash = get it towed.

there is a special socket you can buy at any auto parts store made to take off oxygen sensors, you dont have to have it but it makes things easier as well.
