Default Cheap Angel Eyes/DIY/Also has step by step pics and inst.

Hey, I was thinking about buying a Tiburon at one point in time so I was checking out www.newtiburon.com to see what kinds of DIY stuff they have...I found this DIY for making your own Angle eyes for around $55
check out this DIY

http://www.newtiburon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2422

I Know its for a diffrent car but you should be able to adapt it for a scion once I get mine I'm doing this to it....It doesn't have the gap in between like the kits do and for a fraction of the cost...the DIY also has pics so you can see what it looks like when done...

Lemme know what you guys think... I want to see if you guys think it's something you can do on a TC[/u]

I want to know if anyone plans on trying this....if you do let me know....I was told that the baking method(sticking the lights in the oven) is something you do for all headlights to get them open....I would love to see pics of some of your finished products....also from the pics the angle eyes the guy installed look brighter....my friend did this to his Tib and it came out really good...

Yeah I got you, but it's only 2 little itty bitty holes...I'm sure once you run the EL Cable thru the holes you could probably fill the holes with something...

I don't like the looks of El Wire angel eyes personally. They look cheap IMO.
But if you like it, go for it! I'd love to see the results on a Scion...

It is possible to find true halos in many sizes if you look around, and then you just get a couple of LEDs and you have a true Bimmer look. I used to have a contact, but he doesn't import them anymore. Reshaping/Dremeling plexiglass rods is also kinda cheap looking, but offers a better result than the El Wire.

Check out this website....

http://www.elwirecheap.com/neonwircarki.html

They sell the El Wire kits needed to do the angle eyes...it's really cheap about $15 to $16 for a kit...

It also seels interior kits for the footwells....Scion wants $250 for interior led kits....from the pics it looks brighter with the EL wires plus they have kits where the lights will blink with the music and everything.......What do you guys think?[/img]

Ok, for those of you who want to see how this looks on a tC:
It's not as bright as I would have wanted, but for the time being, the total cost for this mod was about $30.00 and 4 hours of my time. This will do until something better comes along *cough*CCFL*cough*. Even though the usefulness of this is zero, I like the accent.

Yep, cheap EL wire.

Heh, not that I expected much from a total cost of $30 bucks. This will suffice until a CCFL kit for this car comes out. I did some searching for CCFL, and I would have to have a minimum order (1000 or so) for custom shaped CCFL tubes. Creating a CCFL version shouldn't be too difficult, just getting the parts is the pain.

I know someone will eventually push out a CCFL Angel Eyes kit for the tC. That or I'll order a single tC headlight, for R&D and push out a CCFL Angel Eye kit myself. But I'm just not sure if the demand for such a simple mod exists.

The EL wire probably would look better for eyebrow lights a la BMW 5-series

Yeah, I took the headlights apart. Not difficult at all, just warmed them up in the oven and was able to pull apart the lights. Putting it back together was just as easy, added some new sealer, put the two halves together, and threw them back in the oven, and re-attached the screws.
