The Cheap Mods Thread
Are you talking about the pipe to the fender?? if so you are just drawing warmer air than stock (same with any short ram). If it is between the filter and the engine.. it sounds like you are bypassing the filter.. which is a huge no no!

Cheap performance mod that I just finished:
Filling your front motor mount with 3M Window Weld. It's essentially $12 poly motor mount that nearly eliminates the rocking of the engine when shifting hard. It even makes the manual trans easier to drive when shifting during normal street driving. The vibration in-cabin is about 20% more than stock, versus the intense vibrations of real poly motor mounts and Ingalls/WeaponR ETD's (trust me, I've owned them all).
I took pictures while I was doing this project, so expect a write-up/how-to in the next week or so.

i need a camera
. all i got is my camera phone and it suxs at close ups. but think about this mod it can kind of be like a cold air if you leave the pipes that go down to the air box on and cover the part that i'm talking about

here's with my camera phone. the orange thing on the intake is the cap (obviously). this was after i had installed the ground wires too
ps i'm at work so i don't know if u can see the pic cause my computer suxs

heres an older pic of my car. that chrome thing in the grille is painted black now.
this is an extremely easy mod... either buy a new emblem or "shave" the one from the back. its like 2 mods in one! and it looks good
