Chuggin/vibration at stops
Does anyone elses Tc chugg slightly when stopped in traffic. I can feel it throughout the car, its not very harsh but noticeable. Im bringing the car in on thursday for some stuff, so i didnt know if this is usually or not.
Yes please explain. If your talking about how when coming to a stop and your not pressing the clutch in and not pessing on the gas and your going slow....yes it will chug foward it's the electronic throtle that we have it's real sensative.
i have an auto, and it idles a bit ruff at lights, especially when cold. that is the way 4's run it seems. every other 4 i have had has been the same way, while 6's seem to be a bit smoother on the idle.
mine is an auto and it seems to do that as well, you can have the brake on it and it will chug and feels like it wants to go forward though the break is on.. I put myne in neutral when I am at a stoplight... makes it run normal... and I keep the brake on
Yeah, i've noticed that on mine too. It'll chug very slightly kind of randomly when i'm just sitting at a stop light idling. It'll do it whether i'm in gear or neutral or whether or not i have the clutch down. Does anybody know if this is normal? I've only had the car 3 weeks, so i was thinking it was normal.
speaking of "chugg" although i am not sure what it means, but can someone please let me know if they have an AT TC, and after driving for a bit, stopping at your destination, does the car make a noise from the engine compartment? like not a rattling sound but, a weird noise, i am sorry i cannot describe it well, but when i press on the gas, it goes away, could be an idol problem? i did install my strut bar, would that have anything to do with it? thanks
no chugging here and i have an auto tC.. idle is perfectly smooth either in drive or in neutral.. please describe what 'chugging" you're feeling.. my vin is 10500 or 10510, i forget it's around there..
vin?
sorry you got me there....the "chugging" i hear is only after driving and in park by the way, coming of course from the engine bay, it might be vibrating something, but then again i am not sure, i will just have to pay attention to it
Sorry i didnt explain more, i wqs about to go to sleep. I have a manual, and when i come to a stop after driving (stop signs etc.) with my foot on the brake only, theres a slight irregular tremor that i can feel through the car (especially through the brake pedal). Ive never owned a toyota before so i ddint know if this was normal or not. Ill be in the shop on thursday for the hatchback rattle so ill ask them to check it out then and post back if it is unusual.
Sounds like Honeyock knows what im talking about.

I noticed my car does that too sometimes, the idle stays the same even after it's warmed up, and the car vibrates enough to feel it in the steering wheel, brake pedal, and mostly in the shifter, doesn't matter if you're stopped for 15 seconds or a 3 minute light, in neutral or in gear, it's an on and off thing, I'm going to ask my dealership about it when I get my next oilchange in under 1000mi
I just started noticing it within this past week or so, it's the feel of if you turn your bass up really high on a very low note, but there's no sound, just vibrations... and not enough to shatter the windows, but enough to feel it slighly in your seat, and noticeably in the steering wheel, pedals and shifter

i have that chugging when it's cold and the engine hasn't warmed up.. but being that it's getting to 60-70 here everyday in michigan.. haven't felt that.. most of the time it only lasted like 5-10 minutes when it was cold, then the engine returned to it's normal firing..
sounds like a misfire.. or vacuum leak, i'm surprised you haven't gotten a check engine light..
call scion and take it to the dealer.. not normal..
