Default Clear corners (other question)

Alright, I have read many threads regarding the clear corners for our headlights.

My confusion comes from if they are around or not. As I read, there are people who say they have them, and then their are some who say it isn't out/around.

So if they are, where can I get them, and if not, what would be the best course of action to take to get them clear.

Pretty straight forward. =)

ALSO.

The dealership I went to get my car, I asked about the TRD springs, and they told me it was on stop order because their was some type of "flaw" or something. The springs seem to be getting a reworking, and they don't know when it will be re-released. I am curious if anyone else has heard of this, and if I should get them anyways, or if I should buy aftermarket. (I would rather stay true to TRD) then some off beat springs.

Also, as you can see, I am fairly new to the forums, I have yet to introduce myself. I will soon. =P

Name is Ryan

trdsparks.com has the TRD springs in stock, haven't heard anything about a "flaw". I know you can put a tint overlay over the amber reflector but as to "clear" corners I do not believe so.

There are no clear corners available for the tC.... anymore. There was someone a while back who made them but stopped selling them for some reason. I have a pair of them if your interested in buying them.

I thought he was refering to a clear corner piece that I could put into my headlight. Not projector headlights, or chrome headlights, or anything like that. I read the entire thread and I haven't found a headlight that doesn't look cheap on the tC.

i thought if you baked open the headlight, took the orange corner out, and put a white bulb/led in there it would look fine?

Yea...thats what I thought a "clear corner" was. A clear reflector that replaces the orange reflector on the front of the car. New headlights well those are new headlights or projectors. But a headlight being called a "clear corner" is a first for me...

I'm not talking about the whole headlight. I have a set of the acutall sidemarkers that you replace. I'll get pics when i'm off work.

^I'm interested also. I've read that there was a 'baking' process to changing that piece out (the orange reflector part). What's the deal?--because it definitely sounds like a dangerous process. Also, is it legal?

yes, please post pics of the side markers that go in the headlights (the triangular piece).

the reason the headlight has to be 'baked' is because a strong silicone adhesive holds the light together and heat loosens it up so you could open the headlight.

Couldn't you just use a heat gun?

not very effectively.

the heat gun will only soften one small section of the sealant. the oven heats the entire assembly, so all of the sealant is softened.

haven't heard anything about a "flaw" in the TRD springs, but the best thing you could do is order from sparks/mcgeorge and install them yourself or get a local shop to do it. you'll save a ton of money doing this. i suggest you install yourself, why pay someone else to do what you can do yourself? the dealer will charge you up the a$$ for an install...

and honestly, there are much better choices in suspension aside from TRD, not saying TRD isn't great, but it's a very conservative drop.
