"clunky" manual shifting feel is normal?
ever since i got my tc, the shifting (i have 5 speed) has felt "clunky" or something when shifting from one gear to the next. basically as you're shifting into a gear it feels like it clicks or gets stuck a little before completing the shift. anyway, it's only gotten worse, so i took it into the dealer today.
i just got a call back that they checked the synchro and everything, and even took out a new 5 speed tc that was on the lot and it felt the same. they said the transmission was fine in mine (sychro, etc.). so basically they're telling me that it's normal or how it was intended to be.
i know other people have had this issue (yes i've done a search, but i didn't find anyone who said their dealer said it was ok). what is the deal? i really don't like the way it feels. would getting the twm shifter change the feel (i want to get it eventually anyway)? will getting the twm void my warranty?
thanks for reading all that.

I had a 98 Integra before the tC and the clutch definitely felt different. It felt like the movement between the gears was MUCH easier and there was a lot less resistance. For example, with the clutch in and the car in neutral, I could wiggle the shifter left and right in the middle very quickly with little resistance. I can't do that with the tC. Engagement of the gears, however, feels very positive and solid. I think it's just a different car and hopefully that's all you're running into.

THe way the shifter Snicks into slots is dead on correct .
Sometimes my shifts arent great cause im going pokey in it,.
so every once in awhile I shift high ( not HIGH as pot ) like at 4,000 rpm and row through all the gears sports style as it was intended for,
MAGIC people,,,,, pure MAGIC, except its not a 4 liter engine but what are u gonna do lol

the wierd shifting may also have to do with the fact that the car has an electronic throttle .. so that makes shifting feel weird because the revs go up after you let off the gas .. it takes some getting used to .. i wanna get a short shifter
Your linkage may be dry.
As to the revs going up after you stab in the clutch [dagger], perhaps that has to do with the speed you disengage the clutch? It would seem to me that the momentum of the engine would carry itself a bit faster because all of a sudden it's not pushing against the wheels anymore. Speeds up slightly, levels out, then slows down. Whereas, if you slowly disengage the clutch, the friction keeps that from happening (and eats at the clutch). Anyway, seems like that's how it'd work to me at least.
