I need to get a radar, and im not sure which 1 to get out of the 2.
Either the Beltronics Radar/Laser Detector 995 BEL V995CS
or the Cobra 12 Radar/Laser Detector wireless
COB XRSR9G. Any suggestions?????

If you going to do it to use it, might as well do it right.

If that's too far out of your budget, I really don't know much about the other two, so I can't really help you there.

check to see if your local PD has laser ,if they do your screwed.

If they still use radar you should be ok.

I do 90% highway driving and all the cops have laser(in my area DFW)

I had a Escort 8500 and it always said laser everywhere when I as trying it out.

The only time it worked was when I wasnt even driving my own car.
My gf was driving me home at 2am or so and about half a mile away the radar picked up the cops radar. She wasnt speeding or anything.

So its kinda pointless if the PD has laser cuz by the time the radar says "La" your done

 

well you could always get a laser jamar.
but those are highllly illegal.

 

i have a 12 band cobra and it works really good. it talks and everything,.has a color screen..tells you the voltage of your battery..gps compass. its pretty nice. i bought it off my buddy for 110 bucks.

 

I have the Escort 8500 also and I like it. They apparently don't use laser down here. They get us with the instant on and very narrow discrete beams.

The different headlight coverings like Rockblocker claim they don't reflect laser so it makes it near impossible for you to get clocked until you are very close. If have a front license plate, you'd have to get a cover for that also.

 

yeah im saying if the cops still use radar ka,k,or x band your good but for laser I dont think anything will work to great

 

To answer your question, the Beltronics v995 is far better than the Cobra.

Also, the Escort is the Beltronics, since it's the same company now.
