Default Cold air intake questions!

If i got a cold air intake on my 07 tC, will i get better gas milage?

If not, what will i get? its an automatic.

Also, what would be the best CAI for my tC?

actually, i dont understand how you can get better mileage. the engine will notice that there's more air going in, thus balancing that out by adding in more gas. this then makes a tiny increase in power.

^ cuz theres colder air goin to da engine which is less effort produced which in turn saves gas.

With any intake you'll achieve better mpg but depending on the quality of filter you may end up paying for it in the long run. I use the K&N Typhoon SRI V2 for my car and I trust K&N because we use them on our helicopter engine filters. I've seen an engline last a full 600-800 flight hours before replacement in the desert because they do actually filter pretty damn good. It's not as good as the stock air filter that came with my car but it's good enough to trust. Just my 2 cents

ive had the fujita, injen, and a 40 dollar ebay kit

all did the same,no one did any noticeable hp differance, no chnages in mpg.

im sure if you dyno you would find about 3-5 hp and maybe a little biy more mpg
but nothing noticable

You will not get better gas mileage with a CAI. Do a search and you will find a nice explanation by engifineer .

Haha nice explanation Icecoldtc, but yeah as far as what i've seen on SL your gas mileage decreases. Something to do with needing more air blah blah, just search for CAI and you should find it. Gl.
